It isn't trying to feel better about a deal that wasn't made, but if you went back to last season most of Eze's scoring came in a relatively small number of games toward the end of the season. I suspect he'll do well on the counter and with a solid defense behind him maybe better than with Crystal Palace. But, if what Woolwich has gotten him for is to play winger I think he and they may ultimately find the results underwhelming. There's no putting a happy face on how badly Spurs were used or the underlying problems with Levy's negotiating style, but losing Eze is not a blow you can't recover from.

who said we are minnows? was you saying the same stuff when we got bale from southampton? we aint real madrid, we aint going to steam roll the market and buy the best ready now players, we have to mix it in with some promising players with huge potential. kudus and palhinia have already improved our first 11 massively.

im not saying just get dibling, we still need a 10 that walks into the first 11 and a LW. dibling should be in as added depth quality and someone who potentially could blow up.

It could be the money was similar but the terms of payment were better with Woolwich paying more up front. Perhaps Levy kept trying to gain small advantages and lost the deal over insignificant amounts of money. The matter of not selling so Eze could play one more game doesn't seem plausible except as a delaying tactic. That suggests to me that given a choice between executing a deal with Levy or some other owner they are not going to trade with Spurs.

kudus and palhinha have not improved our first 11 massively... palhinha didn't even make the first 11 on Saturday.
