Why do we need to worry about that mate?

When did you and Postecoglou (Ange as you call him because you were mates) go out for a drink?

How does any club cope when 4 of their established back line are absent?
Did you read the post I replied to? Or did you just decide to be an arsehole?

I was responding to a poster (who called our ex manager “Ange” twice, yet didn’t get any fucking grief from you) saying we were now better organised defensively. I pointed out that Mr. postecoglu was also organised in defence when he had the players to do so. So I’m keen to see this new defensive stability and organisation happen when we have the likes of Gray playing centre half.

I’m Australian and had fallen in love with Spurs a long time before Ange, circa 2006ish. As a young fella being able to stay up late, I warmed to spurs! When Ange came I was so excited, he’d dominated everywhere he’d been! He didn’t quite work out (depending how you look at it, EUROPA!!!). But, if he’s done anything worthwhile, I think it’s the togetherness he’s instilled in them! The prickliness to the media, standing up for spurs! Playing a part in our history, I’ll love him forever! But… it’s obvious I think, that Frank, with backing… is IT! COYS!

Friend, in the most polite way I can say this- Ange still hasn't proven that he knows how to set up a real Premier League defense.

Thomas Frank is already, obviously a far superior coach- immediately has got the best out of the same players- even without Maddison to work with.

Udogie, Davies, Dragusin, Gray, Forster the starting back 5 at one point.

Every Frank performance is not a referendum on Ange, very boring commentary to have clogging up the thread.

Ha....no beef with you mate. Let's not go that way.

However my point is the same. Let's not worry about any of that for now,,in the hope it doesnt materialise.

Should it, we can reassess at the time, remembering we now have Danso and potentially a more attuned Dragusin. And Gray is a year older.

Apologies, I should out all those who say 'Ange' I detest first name usage unless it's on the basis of being friends.

A lot of somewhat bitter Ange partisans in here eager to save some face. A couple of the more famous ones seem to have largely disappeared in the wake of Franks early success. Its a mix of getting lost and going through the various stages of grief.

Frank’s attacking patterns concern me a bit. I know we haven’t got the players but I think we’ll struggle against low blocks, I haven’t loved what I’ve seen in those (limited) situations. His press and shape is absolutely brilliant but I fear once we settle into the season it’ll all get very cross-happy, that’s how it’s seemed anyway. I think box crashing CMs help with that but that energy wanes throughout a season. Haven’t seen us put together a slick move in tight areas yet.

I also think we need to see how he’ll react when chasing a game, eventually one of these half chances will go in and we’ll find ourselves 1-0/2-0 down, what then?

But ultimately he’s proven his quality already, I don’t see how any fan could ask for more in his first months at the club. He’s brilliant.

Bit insane calling Jose shit tactically. We had a poor squad, and kept conceding in the last minutes of games. His football was poor, but he made most with the shit squad he had.
There was never any evidence with Jose of serious coaching or a sense that he made the whole better than the sum of its parts.

He was on the way down by the time he got to us. A world away from his stunning Inter side.

Brighton....Palace....Ipswich....B'mouth....

And by the way it's the job of a manager to manage the squad which is why I like to see the likes of Richi subbed off, even when he's scored 2 and on for a hat trick. He's made of glass.

Last 2 years we've been off the chart for sprints without the ball. Hopefully that won't happen so much and the hammies won't be pinging. I think there's only been one VDV sprint to stop a scoring chance.
