Rogers seems so unlikely........

Since January; Villa have lost:

Duran
Bailey
Rashford
Assensio
Ramsey
Coutinho

......With Emre seeming pissed off and a long season in EuropaLg to come.

It's basically the Watkins & Rogers show now.... Without both they're utterly screwed.
It’s definitely unlikely from a club perspective. From the player side it’s achievable. Very least, he should get himself a decent pay rise at Villa otherwise he should ask to leave.

The weak link is Daniel Levy. When it comes to it, he’d rather save cash than push on and really try and win the league. He’s a cunt

Need to set aside this idea that 17th to league champs should be on the menu this season.... It only serves to muddy the simple - and far far less contentious - fact that Thomas needs to be backed this next week.

Ergo he did HIS part.

Ragging on Madz for their relegation is madness..... Armband or no armband.
That team was WAY too good to go down, and my feeling at the time was that the prominent senior players there (not just Madders by any means) ought to shoulder the blame.

Madders, Tielemans, Vardy, Iheanacho, Castagne, Barnes, Ndidi, Dewsbury-Hall, it's a joke that team couldn't cobble together 37 points.

Patson Daka being such a donkey signing killed them, Father Time took Vardy that year and there was nothing to replace him

....But he's under contract til 2030! .....Which is an epic fail on his agent's part. He'll be 28 by then and potentially stuck on mid wages for the bulk of his career.

Way to completely miss the point...... 🙄

That list is still virtually all of the attacking options they had to call upon last season to end up where they did..... They're all gone now.

You're nuts.... A high quality, versatile, prem proven player that can play LW & CAM is exactly what we need!!!

I'm nuts, which legitimises my point.

Look, I think I was among the first people who said the guy is quality. If we could get Rogers, plus one other - winger or forward, we would be in a strong place. It would require an astronomical bid.

Point taken re: Villa's lost attacking threat.

It was; but Jim can can still make the case that his G&A numbers (19 EPL) met fair expectations......... How did everybody else in that squad do in that respect?

Early days but villa look completely cooked. Also they are squeezed financially.
I would be really really suprised if they get anywhere near 5th this season which is possibly good for us if we can improve ourselves.

Emery signed a longish contract. He might be regretting it now.

Missing out on 5th last season has caused them all manner of issues.

If we did bid for Rogers, they might just have to bite.

Our start certainly helps as opposed to hinders.

100pc. I was massively pro Frank in. Plainly obvious he was a great coach. We were always a much better squad than 17th, but we are now actually not that far from being in the top 3 mix, but need a couple more quality players. I believe our first 11 under Frank actually could be top 3, but we will suffer from injuries with this squad as it stands

By all accounts he’s been disappointing in the opening two games. Maybe he’s not happy/asked to leave/asked for a new contract and Villa are refusing everything. Could see that as like you say, long contract. They could really just tuck him up. Will be interesting to see what their wage revenue percentage is at the moment
