Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I unfollowed the prick years ago.

Our transfer windows are always 'rage bait' material. Every now and again i get sucked in but generally I wait for the photo so as not to be disappointed.
Thats where I'm at now. I didn't get excited for Eze or this morning's Hincaipe nonsense. I knew what was coming.

MGW was the final straw. I need to see them in the Spurs kit before I count it anymore. We have absolute cowboys trying to complete these deals-so much can go wrong. We are so weak in the market now that clubs like Woolwich just know they can come in and hijack us at any moment.

We've become the joke of the industry and I'm not sure how Levy can turn his reputation around from here. I imagine Aston Villa are going to find some way of totally embarrassing us if we are attempting to get Morgan Rogers. The owner probably can't wait for Levy to come in with a bid so he can find a way to embarrass him publicly with a rejection.

Reduce Levy’s influence so it’s comparable with dead Uncle Joe then.

Levy is Lewis's operative; the very equivalent to the scenario you're calling for.

No other owner is as hands on in footballing matters, negotiating small details of player transfers

You keep bouncing between calling for ZERO influence and capping his influence on footballing matters to just budgets.

2 significantly diff. scenarios.

I repeat:

- Zero influence from any owner is never gonna happen.
- Capped influence on the pitch is the Paraticci scenario we had (until Fab got busted by the Italian tax feds)

Aren't you even a bit concerned about the shape of our squad right now ?

Maddison has been ruled out since about 3 weeks ago and we are seemingly no closer to replacing him

I get that you are frustrated by all the online bullshit but put that to one side , you can't be happy with how we've managed this window surely ?

Happy, no - but I am going to wait until the window shuts before I judge overall.

It's annoying that we have been after players we were seemingly never able to get, but I don't get embarrassed or buy into the media circus about it. We have bought so, so many players in recent years - people are just choosing to focus on the ones we miss out on than the ones we get.

I try not to believe anything I read online about why transfer x fell through or didn't.... no one knows.... the fact that there are conflicting reports means people are just picking and choosing whichever reinforces their world view.

We look good under Frank, and whilst young, I actually rate our squad quite highly. There are gaps, but I personally did not expect all those gaps to be resolved in this window, and so if we don't, I won't be upset. DM and RW for me were the most important areas to fix from last season.

I still think we can get a 10 and LW done in the next week.... so let's see - seemingly closer.... you have no idea - not a single person on here or on twitter does....

Having a down year with a basket case of a West Ham team is not a sufficient reason to rule Paqueta out.

That being said, it's not exactly comparable to Kudus' down year due to age difference between the two. One is entering his prime years (25), while the other is heading towards the wrong side of 30 (28 in a few days).

But then the consensus here is that we need established players, so Paqueta would tick that box as well.

Do you think the level of operational influence is a good thing and comparable to other chairman/owners? There’s no reason he can’t retire and they employ a CEO / Chairman to deal with most matters

The sad thing is that we probably were in for Hincaipe but as we found out Woolwich were in for him and Ornstein was about to Bomba-we quickly got Ali Gold to put out an article saying we were never interested. We couldn't have Woolwich hijack us twice in a week. Ali Gold is the club PR man and he was instructed to quickly put that together to save face.

Fabrizio Romano is a fool who's exaggerating every story but I don't think he'd just totally make something up. I think we've been hijacked twice by Woolwich in 5 days and the club were so embarrassed by it that they had Ali Gold quickly dismiss our interest.

a draw and a win, instead of two wins. That’s gives you the confidence to start shilling for the owners. Come on, it’s a long season, four competitions. No where near good enough. Is there any scenario that you will feel can be criticised?

Not allowed to have a contrary opinion without getting accused of being a shill.

How old are you - 12?

Grow up mate!

No we didn't

We drew 1-1 away at Leicester. Tonked a wank Everton team, then lost against Newcastle and Arse.
It was a shocking start and most of us knew it was coming as we all knew Ange was a fraud who'd been found right out.
Let’s see how we do in games 3 and 4 and against the equivalent teams before we start saying we’ve improved or it’s been a good start then. At the moment the difference is two points. Man City good performance, but probably not as good as last years. Burnley was a struggle for 65minutes

So maybe there is some hope for Evan Ferguson after all....

Roma fans compare Evan Ferguson to Argentina legend as Republic of Ireland striker impresses during Serie A debut

Fans claim Brighton star Evan Ferguson is the “regen” of Argentina legend Gabriel Batistuta

IRELAND striker Evan Ferguson made his competitive debut for Roma in their Serie A season opener against Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday night.

New boss Gian Piero Gasperini wasted no time showing his faith in the Bettystown striker as he handed the Brighton loanee a starting XI place for his first league game in charge.
And Ferguson was heavily involved in the opening exchanges, creating three chances inside the first 15 minutes.

His sharp movement and crisp touches immediately caught the eye of supporters in the stands and online, and in reality could have netted a couple.

Roma fans took to social media in both English and Italian to praise the 20-year-old’s display.

One commented: Ferguson can cook - if he stays fit, he’ll score plenty.”
Another even compared the Meath native to the legendary Argentine Gabriel Batistuta: “Evan Ferguson is the regen [The New] of Batistuta.”

While a third said: "It started VERY WELL the and, as the minutes passed, it stalled.

"I think Gasperini's new project can show interesting things and I expect A LOT from the Dybala + Evan Ferguson partnership."

The decisive moment came in the 53rd minute when another debutant, right-back Wesley fired home to give Roma a 1-0 win.

Ferguson almost added an assist in the second half, laying off a perfect ball to Manú Koné, but the Frenchman couldn’t convert into the visitors net.

The former Bohemians ace also earned top praise from new Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini as he was awarded Man of the Match honours, too.

Gasperini admitted: “He played a great game and his condition is improving.

“He played very little last year and needs to get used to it but showed some important qualities for us.

“They're very young players with plenty of room for improvement.

"They gave a good showing of what they can do against Bologna and we saw how compact this team is.

“I noticed that in pre-season, especially abroad where it's not easy playing in full stadiums.

“He (Ferguson) has a lot of potential and will give us great satisfaction in the long run.”
Roma travel to Pisa next with expectations growing from Roma fans.

It wasn’t the fairytale goal on his first night in Rome, but the Ireland international did enough to get fans excited for what’s ahead this season.

We will have Kulusevski back, Maddison back next season and probably one of Donley or Moore might make the grade. An AM for now is what is needed. Paqueta is more a 8/10 like MGW but at least was a very good player.

Yeah and that was because we'd a tough super cup game 3 days earlier so had to rest Palhinha and Bentancur. Once the champions league starts we are so so screwed with this squad. Our bench is all teenagers - Tel, Odobert, Gray and Bergval will be starting games every week as we'll have to rotate. And thats before we even get to the injuries!
