Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Woolwich apparently have all the best payers, never make a mistake in the transfer window (but didn't they also bring in Jesus and Pepe) remember.

Whether players go their because of the money or it's their favoured childhood club doesn't mean they will win Championships and Trophies.

Not many in here recognize the difference between the way both clubs are run. If they did then a more measured view would be made. New owners won't guarantee that they would pump half a billion into the first team, did the new owners at Toon do that?

I will never understand why twice a season fans in here get bent out of shape, make incoherent arguments as to why the club don't flush three or four hundred million down the shitter in order to buy new shiny toys.

Spurs have made some wise buys this Summer and players that Frank wants, not through a rush of blood or just because that player has a Carlos-Kick-A Ball name.

TS said only this morning that Spurs have made no approach to Leverkusen so again the rabid among us can now go back into their cave until another fictitious name surfaces from the media linking us to them.

Frank was never going to compete his squad building in one window, Arteta has taken ten transfer windows, winning, what an FA Cup, spending over a billion pounds to do so?
Yep

Or … they came 2nd in the premier league and a CL semi-final and just improved every position they needed to in an effort to win those competitions

Look … you’d be hard pushed to find someone who hates them more than me but it’s clearly evident they believe they can win and are financially backing themselves

It’s an attitude and execution we don’t have

TS saying we haven’t made a bid for hincappe isn’t a positive …. If we genuinely wanted to win things we’d have bought hincappe first week of July

Do we genuinely want to compete or be plucky also rans

You do all realise what happens to Arteta and the scum if they don’t win the league and or the CL….

Tottenham Hotspur's squad cost is difficult to pin down to a single figure, but their overall market value was estimated at €832.10 million for the 25/26 season according to Transfermarkt. Other sources provide different figures, with one report from May 2023 placing their squad cost at €390.3 million, and another from March 2025 noting a cost of €747 million for the 2024/25 season, though this could be accounting for different factors.

Key Details:

  • Market Value (25/26 Season): €832.10 million
  • Squad Cost (2024/25 Season): €747 million
What the different figures mean:
  • The market value from Transfermarkt represents the estimated value of the players on the squad, considering factors like their age, performance, and potential.

  • The squad cost figures from Planet Football include the total transfer fees paid for the players currently in the squad.

  • The difference between the numbers highlights the fluctuating nature of squad valuations, influenced by new signings, player development, and the specific accounting methods used by different reports.

What argument?

Mate if you want to let your Gooner mates stomp all over your face have at it. I have a little more self-respect.

Also - downplaying our European trophy is so on point. There's not one gooner I know who isn't sick to the stomach we won that. But, sure, let them off the hook because they nicked Eze off us.

We have ZERO control over what our Owners do. Gooners have spend billions. Until they won something they've won fuck all. It really is as simple as that.
Wild how much stock some supporters put into "winning" the summer. Woolwich have done fuck all lately but spend a lot of money and bottle competitions. They'll do the same this year.

They can have Eze - paraphrasing Frank, if they don't want to play for Spurs then fuck em.

Anyone think it's possible Levy might be a secret gooner himself?
Would certainly be one explanation.
Imho he is just a weird , socially inept dude who is only interested in the ultimate financial return our club will deliver to him . Add to that he is totally disingenuous in his pronouncements and it’s not surprising 83% of this board want him and ENIC gone .

Just hope he cashes in sooner rather than later, although I doubt that happens .

Don't bother pal too many cock smokers on here.
Spurs and Woolwich in for Billy Bangor from Lille. Both offer £70m and £200kpw.Billy goes on the Internet to check PL standings.
Game over

City are happy to sell Savinho and this has been evident from the start of our pursuit. What they want is to take us to the cleaners and everything that's happened since we bid 50m is one big conditioning operation where we're being manipulated into eventually offering 70m. Levy will likely bite and the fans and the club will think it as a great bit of business whilst the City hierarchy will be laughing and congratulating themselves on a job well done.
Agree, but so we "potentially" get shafted? But we we get the player Frank really wants, a player who could be the difference between 7th or 4th? If it's the latter then he pays for himself, plus we have shafted plenty of other teams in the past.
It's just the nature of the game today!

You don't seem to understand the difference between me disagreeing with others' hyperbole and defending ENIC.
You are arguing in bad faith pal, stop trying to hide behind this idea that you’re always fighting against hyperbole, there might be some posts that are but there is many many more that are legit criticisms that you regularly condescend with.

It’s obviously fine if you want to defend them against whatever criticisms they get but enough with the disingenuous nonsense. Quit pretending that you’re so well balanced, and you see the nuances and context and whatever words you want to use that think gives your posts more weight, you are more extreme than any Levy critique

It's not even that. Of course Scum have bought better than us - they usually do because they spend. And are in a title-winning position.

But it's the idea that we should let gooners stomp on us when we've just won a major trophy and they have fuck all. Like how pathetic do you have to be to allow that?

We can't control what our owners do. We can control whether we let trophy-dodging gooner filth get to us. Jesus christ - can't believe these people are writing this on a Spurs forum.

It's just footy parlance... I wouldn't let that part worry you, mate.

No-one would be at a club for 11 years if it wasn't deemed mutually beneficial.
Yep and I did try to caveat it

the days of a player staying with a club through loyalty, sacrificing a transfer bonus/signing on fee (which was a big thing in the day, maybe the equivalent of a years wages) and finally being granted a testimonial to generate some financial remuneration, it was applicable

I appreciate it’s just hung around as football parlance but it feels misplaced these days

Truly annoying how some have just moved on from what is our biggest win in 41 years...but we didn't win the transfer trophy, that's what really matters.

It doesn't matter when you keep throwing cheap shite at the wall. Our problem is refusing to pay for the top players and buying, wasting hundreds of millions on dross

Buy cheap, buy thrice.

Just like when we waited for Palace to find a replacement, even letting our target play for Palace while they did so. (We literally bent over for them)

All the wise sages in here said that that was perfectly normal and we should be patient.

And then Woolwich grab him from right underneath our noses and managed to wrap up the deal within three days.....even making sure that Eze didn't play for Palace in Europe.

That's about as weak and soft as a deal can get.

And now fucking wait for City to get a replacement .....it's total bullshit
