Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

For me it's not unforgivable that the club hasn't gone out and signed multiple £60m+ players, for whatever reason that's just not us, be it we are indeed financially restricted, or just be choice of our own.

But it is unforgivable that we haven't addressed clear holes in our squad by signing someone, whilst we've spent the whole summer sitting on our hands and umming and ahhing over MGW, Eze, etc. tons of players who could have bolstered the squad have moved between clubs lower down the food chain than us.

We're not talking about a squad on the level of the Poch highpoint here, where you could see some logic to the argument that it was incredibly difficult to improve the squad. We have a much lower base now, even a few punts would be welcomed as we are so thin at fullback and attacking midfield.

You see the links to someone like Paz, with one season of football under his belt, and I genuinely think we could do worse than just sign up some youngsters from the Madrid B team, or Bayern, having seen the runaround their youngsters gave our first team in pre-season.

Better than what seems to be our alternative.
R Madrid, Bayern and other super-clubs will be jealously looking after their best youngsters. Even those who aren't in the best category would prefer to stay. We wouldn't want the next level of cast-offs.

But Spurs are investing in promising young players. Look at Vušković, Melia, and Boast, for example, or Gray and Bergvall, who are already making the grade as squad players and promise a lot more. Then there's good hope for Tel and Odobert. Let's see how Takai gets on.

But not all will make it – and that is to be expected.

yeah our academy stinks for a big london club. compare to real madrid, if you are a talented footballer in the madrid area aged 7 and above, they know about you. london is a powerhouse of talented footballers but few of them come from our academy. Remember Kane originally was Woolwich and King was Senrab FC too.
I doubt if a club like Senrab will ever produce another top player, anyone with that kind of talent will be in a professional Academy somewhere by the time they are 10.

Non fussed about winger as we paid a lot of money for odobert and tel, they need developing
But the number 10 should've been sorted well before maddison got injured knowing the extent of kulusevski injury .
And we have no kids to step in

Tel needs selling, haven't seen anything that makes me think he was worth buying.

Odobert may end up a decent PL winger but we want more than decent, no?

Yeah, big mistake loaning out the young players like Donkey and Moore if we aren't going to bring any new players.

The Signing Tel for £40 million after he was shite on Loan to then send Moore to Scotland for the season sums us up, surely as a Club we take the risk with Moore this season and use that £40 million to ensure Frank has all his targets in before the season starts , even if that means paying a bit more.

We didn't sign Tel for 40mil

He signed for just over 30mil

Moore isn't ready, Ange and now Frank agree on that, and Frank agreed to the signing of Tel.

I sort of agree with you. I can live with our current options at wings, current fullbacks and CBs if there is no one reasonable to buy. Enough with buying just for the sake of buying.

But having no AM is just a sackable offence. Kudus down and we are absolutely fucked vs low blocks that will sit deep, play long and avoid our press. Again, i could live (barely, but still) if we decide that we trust i.e. Donley in that role. But yeah, we loaned him so we dont have even options from youngsters
And it’s not just that. Levy’s handling of this window has been beyond incompetent. The guy still thinks “deals” exist in football like it’s 2010. If we hadn’t spent weeks messing around with the Gibbs-White and Eze situations, we could’ve either got them or moved on quickly. Instead, we wasted over a month dithering. That alone should be a sackable offence.

Now we’re left scraping the bottom of the barrel because Levy refuses to pay market value. City would sell Savinho if we upped the bid—even without a replacement. They did the same with Alvarez last year.

I'm not surprised, it's the same thing each window. Final week panic stations. I will admit we've had some success before with it (Bentancur and Kulusevski).

However, it isn't acceptable, and always leaves the manager short, always reactive, never proactive. Come December we'll be hit with injuries and people will start blaming the manager again.

Morgan Rogers isn't happening.. Villa aren't selling with a week to go in the window. It'll be players clubs are actively trying to sell we end up with.

Chelsea have offered €50M for Fermin Lopez from Barca. If this club had any common sense and ambition, it would rival Chavs for either Fermin or Xavi Simmons. But of course it fucking won't, because we're too busy trying to hijack El Goddamn Khannous from Crystal Palace...

Can’t face going through every post on this thread, but any recent mentions for Kolo Muani?

He was mentioned heavily last summer, but went to Juventus. With Vlahovic still being there and David being a recent signing, doubt he’s got a place back there and unlikely he can stay at PSG.

Last minute opportunity loan with an option?
