Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I know we're all waiting and expecting this to fall flat on its face but its a massive moment in the transfer window for us.

If we can get this done its a huge boost for top 5 and without it were likely 3 places further down the table.
Crazy how it could make that much difference for us and yet he’s just another body at Chelsea.

The way Chelsea have just bought every player possible is not good for football.

All those scared on here of 'being rejected for a 3rd time' most likely haven't had anywhere near as much sex in their lives as they could've, with less attractive women than they could've.

You just have to confidently stroll up to Simons, give him a firm slap on the arse, look into his eyes and ask the question - "do you want to come or not?".

I said that our fans are just scared of being embarassed and laughed at which is weird because the same fans get pissed off at the club targetting youth and players who aren't up to the grade yet when we target players we wouldn't normally purchase and thus have a higher chance of being rejected they cry.

As per usual in every transfer window our fans don't even know what they want.

Levy is desperate to land one big transfer but I'm not sure if he's this desperate. Making Xavi Simons your highest paid player is a massive gamble by all accounts. If his attitude isn't 100% then it could derail everything. I don't think we'll offer him the 200k a week. I think we'll come in around 160-180K and Simons will only accept if Chelsea are completely out of the equation

200k a week was what Kane and Son are on and that was very low for them. 200k for someone like Simons should not be a deal breaker, he is at the very top end of AM’s in Europe. If Woolwich or United needed AM’s he would probably get offered £250-300k.

It's true, you have to have a pop at the highest standards to find out what's possible.

Though in comparison with my analogy I wouldn't suggest the same method with youth players.

We should be pushing all our chips in on Akliouche in my opinion. That deal will take time, and we haven’t got it. When Simons goes Chelsea we will look like utter fools.

Fair enough. Don't know enough about Akliouche but my sense is Simons is the more "best 11 right now" player available and Frank needs best 11 players imo.

And look, if we are advancing on other players in the background then fair play. Simons is the best 10 on the market. I just have zero confidence that the club is acting rationally this summer, it all seems to be a panic.

I know it's been very very disappointing but I'm not sure it's been "panic".

Kudus was signed then MGW basically announced. Everyone thought that deal was done including the player himself. It was pretty exceptional circumstances how it played out BUT if that transfer had got over the line then this window would have been viewed very very differently.

The fact it weirdly went south doesn't make the approach for Eze "panic". Seems fairly sensible to me - it was only Haavertz injury which made Scum move. It feels embarrassing for sure but it wasn't "panic" imo.

Now it's desperate times for sure as targets dwindle and we face not replacing Madders let alone strengthening. But I'd consider signing the likes of Paqueta - a player no better than Madders/Kulu as true "panic". We haven't got there

Yet...

We gave Timo Werner like £160,000 per week, even Maddison is on £170,000 per week and he's not as proven on the Continental/International stage.

200k really shouldn't be a dealbreaker in this age.
