The point was that despite fleeting success, Blackburn are currently in the championship, and have been for the majority of the time since they won their one (1) Premier League title (see also: Leicester City).

I'd love nothing more than seeing Spurs win the Premier League or the European Cup, but I also want that success to be sustainable, not just a brief flash in the pan.

There you go!!

Your reading comprehension is lacking slightly though.

My point was Rovers had a rich benefactor who cared more about what happened on the pitch than anything else.

He took them from nothing to something and their league position now is absolutely nothing to do with him.

He’s dead.

But he was a self made millionaire who spent his own money - not the fans money - to win the league and build a stadium for his club.

An impressive man in my opinion. Maybe not yours. To me a true football benefactor.

So can you see the difference between him and ENIC?

Or do you just want to raise another moot point??

So supporters of a Premier League football team ought not want their club to spend big on top attacking players because that doesn't always guarantee success.

Nothing to complain about our owners are the best.

This Simons signing is great news, ✊ ....but let's be honest, it shouldn't be viewed as something extraordinary. It's the kind of player we should be signing. The kind of signing fans of any other Big 6 club would expect on a regular basis.

Browsing through the transfer thread however, some posters seem genuinely more thrilled that the signing takes the heat of our chairman than what the player actually brings to the team

I am not thanking him or offering to chip in for a statue , but if this goes through I am going to enjoy it for what it is . A high quality signing to sit alongside Kudus and Palhina who are both big upgrades on our starting 11 . Frank is a massive upgrade on Ange , now can Levy dig deep and sign two more quality players . Window has potential to be transformative at best , if we get Simons and nobody else it’s a solid 7 for me , might with hindsight upgrade to an 8 if Simons hits the ground running

Why, on today of all days, would you post that?

What point are you trying to make that you haven't already made 100000 times?

We get your stance.

It is not new, it's not original,l and it's not even interesting. All you are doing is shitting on others' parade because you care more about levy and Enic than you do about literally anything.

SO, lets see if you have the cahuna's to actually answer a question that is asked of you.

Why did you post this? What are you hoping to achieve?

114 questions and counting without reply

I haven't been looking at the forum or any football news since about 1pm yesterday, so only found out about Simons about half an hour ago. It's good news.

I'll happily give Levy credit for his involvement in the signing, but you're right, these are the sort of players that the club requires more often.

The usual suspects have been on the forum telling posters there's something wrong with them for paying any attention to media reports about player acquisitions, but Simons has been mentioned in the media quite a few times regarding our club during this transfer window. It also seems that Romano had been correct about Vuskovic going on loan to Hamburg.

So the club's potential activity in the transfer window is not all always a made up load of bollocks in the media, and there are transfer targets that the club do aim for but fail because of low ball bids or clubs not wanting to deal with Levy etc.
