Simons wasn't even on our list - and that was because he wasn't thought to be available. If we had gone for him two months ago, we wouldn't have gotten him, but the strong start to the season, the positivity about Frank and Chelsea's dithering have worked in our favour.
Also, I definitely prefer Simons over Paz because Simons has proven himself on a higher level than Paz has. Would I prefer Simons over MGW/Eze based on ability? Maybe not, but that is only because those two have proven themselves in the Prem. On the other hand though, MGW turned out to have the spine of a worm, while Eze probably would never have enjoyed being here since he is an Woolwich supporter. So maybe we dodged two bullets there.
(My points above doesn't excuse Levy's shitty management of this transfer window - all in all, it was circumstances and luck that created this opportunity. Levy should consider himself lucky.)
