That's like saying that Bilbao didn't make up for 17 years without silverware.

Maybe not, but it felt SO FUCKING GOOD that moaning about the past just made some look, I dunno, pointlessly frumpy while everyone else had an idiotic grin on their face for days.

So now, what would you rather do, be excited about what Xavi Simons can bring to Spurs or wallow in the years when we signed no one or swapped Berbatov for Fraizer Campbell?
I am able to disconnect my current high levels of happiness, from my feelings of negativity towards Levy. The two are not mutually exclusive, so I am thrilled about the current news that we are seeing, and not thrilled that Levy didn't do much for the football side of things for some of the best years of my life. I don't owe him any thanks now for something he should have been doing as his job, and hadn't been, all the while giving managers 5 minutes to do theirs, with hands tied behind their backs.

While we have broken the club transfer fee record on other players, those having been older PL veterans on lesser wages put them in sort of a different category in terms of financial and risk profile..

Ndombele was a bit more money staked in terms of wages + fee amortization for a number of years, especially when you take into account inflation, but this is really the first Ndombele-like deal we have had the courage to do since.

That's progress. You can't win if you don't play.

Agree

We had PTSD for too long over Tanguy but Xavi looks like we’ve learned from that tbh. You can tell the mentality is totally different

He better be fucking good or Daniel will never do it again

😭 😭 😭

We’ve fucked up a lot of things this window but we do seem to be trying. I’m excited to see what we can do under Frank. If we can bring in Lookman/depth for LB etc then the pieces are really coming together.

He scored or assisted 18 in the premier league when he isn’t on any set pieces and all his underlying numbers for creativity are excellent. For context, Eze scored or assisted 16 while on set pieces and is four years older yet still cost a huge chunk of change.

He’s not just a numbers player like a Brennan either. The guy is incredibly fun to watch and one of the best ball carriers in the league. He creates havoc.

In addition he contributed to 6 UCL goals. So all round, why wouldn’t he be so highly valued? Young, English, exciting to watch, productive at all levels, England international. He’s an absolute gem of a footballer.

Spot on about ball carrying. There was times I thought I was watching prime dembele he was that good just galloping past people.

Mate I’m terrified of fucking house spiders let alone wild Brazilian wildlife and was fine lol.

It’s amazing.

Saw sloths, tarantulas, pink dolphins, bush vipers, toucans, parrots, caimen and swam with the dolphins and piranha.

Would not change that experience for the world.
You swam with Piranha?

I'm guessing it wasn't just your head that came back smaller!

Sounds like you had an awesome time though Bruv, happy for you.

Definitely can’t fault the conviction. And after fairly public set backs with MGW then Eze, you have to respect the determination to keep chasing that level of player. And somehow, Simons is a level above both imo.

Biggest priority for me now is that player that gives us rotation for VDV and one of the FB spots. Spence is that versatile that it kind of doesn’t really matter which side for FB but Danso means it would make much more sense to be LCB cover.
