You have to wonder what Real Madrid are looking for in players, because Guehi would suit them to a T.
We can't compete with Liverpool's appeal, but he and Wharton would strengthen our squad, although it's always about having the right mix of player.
Having said that if we signed him on loan with no obligation he'd probably be bang average for us and we'd then spend 50mil to make it permanent.
I agree. Not saying that as a pessimist or trying to soften any perceived blow but I simply don't expect anything unless a signing somehow falls into our lap.
And that wouldn't be a disaster. We can always improve but if nothing happens tomorrow it's hardly a tragedy after the players we brought in.

They don't seem set up to service an out and out goalscorer, their transitional play has gotten slower with Rice as the lynchpin in their midfield IMO, I still fail to see what they paid £105m and continuously wank themselves into oblivion for.
At the 30 seconds mark of this video Levy has already told a big fib. Gary asks him "do you get a summer", Levy replies "No"...."it's the transfer window isn't it!?!".....
