Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Wouldn’t have minded an option to buy
If he tears it up and enjoy his Francophone team mates and London we win silverware and impress, he'll want to commit. Its good as long as we excell. I'm not going to be a party proper but I've had an odd inclination he wasn't super keen on sharing a dressing room with our venerable captain, if you take my meaning. Hopefully some reluctance has been put to bed by Odobert and Tel. He kind of strikes me as a bit nervy type wise.

RKM seems like an adequate option in the circumstances, but we really haven’t had a proper plan this summer and it shows.

We knew Son was leaving months ago yet no meaningful effort was made during the summer to sign a suitable replacement. If the club thought Odobert and Tel were enough then that’s pure insanity.
Have there been any outstanding options available though?

Savinho hasn’t really been realistic and it maybe a case that TF does not want to sign someone if it doesn’t significantly move the needle.

Assuming Solanke is out until the new year:

CF: Muani, Richy
LW: Odobert, Tel
RW: Kudus, Johnson
CAM: Simons, Sarr

LW still iffy. Given Johnson has been gash and Odobert/Tel not trusted I wonder if Frank sticks Muani or Simons out there.

They need something like that to rejuvenate

City have talent in spades, they can’t buy their way out of their problems. I would love their squad but the mentality and how they play has fallen to pieces. They play like individuals now and seem broken, everything about City screams Pep is melting down. It weird to say but I hope City keep Pep.

We've mutually ended deals many times in the past, you must have missed those.
Players in the last year of the contract that we have no need for, can't offload, we can sometimes come to a settlement to pay them off and allow them to find another club.

Never have we, or would we ever, pay off a usable player, who can be loaned out or sold with 3 years of his contract left.

Basically what you are suggesting is instead of

a) using the player in our squad
b) loaning the player out and earning loan fees, and other teams picking up his salary
c) selling the player

You are basically saying instead of all those possible benefits, Manor take £10 million and leave.

As I say, you don't understand how these things work, therefore haven't thought things through at all, and shown zero logic.

Not sure where I sit with RKM. I'm glad we signed someone because we lack options in the front 3. He just never kicked on when he joined PSG and his career has stagnated. Hopefully Frank can unlock him because there is huge potential there but you'd have to be worried about him just becoming the next Werner/Tel.

Muani will want to be on pens. Despite the horrible miss in ET, he scored his penalty in the shoot out.

The thought of Xavi Simons playing through balls to Kolo Muani is actually mouth watering.

Completely irrelevant to anything but RKM is a hilarious guy. Very cool. Have a famous anecdote about Dembelé being scared of cats

What a pussy.
