Match West Ham (A) - BYOB (Bring your own binoculars) - 13th Sep, 530KO

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Just to upset everyone who has posted a likely team on the thread, NL announced its international line up which includes :

Van de Ven (left-back) and Xavi Simons (right winger in a 4-3-3) starting for The Netherlands against Poland.

So has anyone put Spurs players in similar positions ? :D :D :D

This is actually quite a big game , we win we have had a very solid start and West Ham have had a shocker, we lose and we are both on six points . 6 for us is a bit meh and pretty decent for them .

. . . . . . . . . . Vicario

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Spence

. . . Sarr . . . Bergvall . . . Palhinha

. Kudus . . . . Muani . . . . . . .Xavi .

What is Frank thinking, what do you think? To give Xavi a start right away or to bring him in as a sub? I'd start him. If he can start for the Dutch national side then he can start for Tottenham. The rest of the front line picks itself out I think.

Bergvall, I think, deserves a start and so does Palhinha. What would Frank think about this line up?

Romero is a problem at centre back. And so is Porro. That van de Ven also didn't impress. One centre back is also always importantly affected by the other. So IDK.

Does anyone know what sorts of formations Frank used with Brentford for away Premier League games he was sure hoping to win? 4-3-3, I guess.

I'd also stick Palhinha behind/next to Xavi during early goings. Xavi is from the Barca school and Palhinha is Portuguese. I'd keep Xavi away from Porro & Romero. A solid, experienced defensive midfielder would be a good option to pair up with Xavi during the early goings of his time in the Premier League. Especially given that Palhinha played in England before.

Why are porro, romero and vdv a problem

Starting your new marquee signing, who continues to call himself a #10, out on the LW is certainly an interesting decision.

If we go 4-3-3 it's

Vic

Porro ---- Romero ---- VDV ---- Djed

Paulinha

Bergvall ---------- Xavi

Kudus ------ Muani ------ Richie

Replace Richie with Odobert if you fancy it.

Sarr, Bentancur, and Bergvall are all similar players. Box to box, lots of carrying the ball.

Bents is the most defensive.
Sarr is all about the energy, but games can pass him by.
Bergvall, is the better ball player.

So for me it was a choice between Berg and Bents, and in this case against WH, I feel some who can spot a pass, to feed the likes of Xavi, Muani, Richi, and Kudus will be needed.

At least this time WH will have to deal with more that one side, unlike Bournemouth.

Must win...but it ain't gonna be easy, it's their cup final and they gonna feel very confident after trashing Forest & keeping Paqueta (who scored for 🇧🇷).

Think it'll be a draw after a shite 90 mins.

Have a couple of West Ham mates , can’t stomach another loss . Losing to Woolwich hurts more but at least there is a rationale to it at this moment. Regularly losing to this mob can never be rationalised , we have lost to them when we have been by far the better team in recent times . Even lost during our title challenge iirc

Frank clearly has plethora of options in terms of the squad so that it is not easy to predict what formation he will pick out. That surely depends on the opponent which is West Ham and which I am not familiar with. The key problem Frank has is that not all players play every game in an uncompromising fashion. That's what I have noticed as the very most obvious thing with this Tottenham squad particularly in terms of Romero, Porro and Richarlison (Tottenham's Spanish/South American contingent). And, of course, others may join in and put in lackluster, weak and compromising performances. That I think is the key for him to figure out. Which players are ready and willing to give their utmost best in every single moment of every single game. That is I think his key problem. Not how to deal with opponents and what strategy to pick out. But how to deal with and manage his own players and team.

Last year with Brentford Frank utilized 4-2-3-1 when playing West Ham away. And he got a 0 : 1 win for his Brentford side.

Thinking about 4-2-3-1 formation I think Frank will/should go for this:

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Vicario

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Spence

. . . . . . . . . . . Sarr . . . . . Palhinha . . . . . . . . .

. . Kudus . . . . . . . . . Xavi . . . . . . . . Johnson

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . Kolo Muani . . . . . . . . . . . . .

We need to win otherwise it’s not a great start. Especially when have already integrated a few new first team players. We really should have done better v Bmouth and that is worrying that we were so lackadaisical. I’d expect Frank to get us up for every game. 6/12 would be Nuno levels. Plus we have CL game on the Tuesday so need to go into it with some momentum. If we lose to spam that is two on the bounce then puts pressure on the Villarreal game. Bad result there and questions will be asked.

First must win of the season for me.

Had more than enough of Ange's appalling London Derby record.

Let the new era begin with beating this shower of shite at their own shitehouse.
