The cognitive dissonance some of you suffer where you absolutely can't admit the fact the EL is pretty weak because it somehow impacts your enjoyment of us winning a trophy finally is hilarious. It just sounds dumb.
Mate its utterly pathetic. Some of the posters on here purporting to be spurs fans should be ashamed of themselves.
We're not exactly drowning in trophies in recent history and some go out of their way to judge it against other competitions we've won in the DISTANT past. True spurs fans would just have enjoyed (and still be enjoying) it.
If we'd been winning league titles and champions leagues in the last few years then yeah, maybe some would have had a point...but we haven't.
I will NEVER forget this win, and I certainly will never forget the parade scenes that followed. Was in tears on the phone to my equally crazy spurs loving mate. We both were.
Football is many things and by god it gives us all a hard time at times...so why not savour and enjoy every moment of glory that we can.

Winning the EL was a great achievement, we should be proud, dare I say it Ange should be proud, and we should enjoy every second.
This sentiment can coexist with the opinion, nay fact, that claiming EL to be anywhere near UEFA Cup in the 80's is utter stupidity!

I rate this trophy higher for many reasons. Others rate the 80s higher for other reasons.
Who cares? People live in different circumstances at different times.
