Damn is his football predictable? Drilling the team so much is why he did well with a limited budget, but he's now having Ferraris and still drive them like Skodas. I'm afraid he will always be this way. Solid team, risk averse with a good defence, but very unexciting and too predictable.

He really loves his long throws and set pieces. Yes, it's good to have that edge, but can't be the only area where we stand out.
Is this the finished product?

Can I just say, I'm actually impressed with the players.

They haven't had any proper instructions on how to play, for two years, and now have a very technical, tactical manager and they have responded straight away and properly engaged with it.

Putting everything into context, we're definitely heading in the right direction.

Once they are fully used to Frank's method, we'll be set.

Probably not, and it's true that it's too early to say. But I think I start to recognize some patterns and in many ways it is starting to look more and more like Brentford. I suppose that is his way of playing and to his credit, it has given him success.

But I think for those who hoped that he would really transform his style, and being able to do so successfully, the future may be somewhat disappointing. It's kind of logical that he will stick to a system he's developed and refined for many years.

Still, this is still much better than what we saw under Ange. Maybe getting a season where we stabilize ourselves is just what we need right now. Beautiful, free flowing football may be asking for too much.

i doubt hes telling the likes of kudus to dribble the ball into the space a midfielder is standing free in... in fact, id like to think that hes going to try and drill that out of him.

Its

his

5th

game

Poch? Took a season and 4 more PL games to turn things around.

Tht first sesaon? Chavs 5-3, Goons 2-1

Not one other preformance/result to write home about. None. Nada.

And he took over a squad that Tictacs Timmy got to Europe.

Frank has taken over the most disfunctional Spurs team I've EVER seen, going back to 1969-70 or so.

Honestly, some fans

if his predictable football is getting 4 clean sheets from 5 games while hes still sussing the players out, im all for it.

It’s so much easier to coach a team defensively and holding a shape.

The biggest problem we have now is a lack of a clinical finisher.

Unless we create a lot of chances we are going to struggle.
IMO we are missing Madders and Kulu, and Xavi is not yet settled in/connected with other players, and is playing LW, rather than no.10. Odobert needs to be tested on LW more IMO

We also miss a top no9, though when Dom comes back and Kolo Muani is settled in and fit, we will have much better options there, even if perhaps not having an elite no.9. By way of example, I'd have expected Kane to finish that lunging chance Richie had in the second half at the back stick.

We do need more movement and moves through the middle of the park.

Bergvall can't quite throw the thing far enough for it to be real weapon. Big Kev can.

Bigger problem is progressing the ball through midfield. We aren’t creating much from open play

Absolutely

Looks like Frank made the decision to get the defensive systems locked in and spend time around the edges being able to score from set pieces.

Our results vindicate that decision and it’s impossible to coach everything in 2 months or however long he’s actually had all the players.

I hate that it’s always a new project that requires patience but we’re getting results so I don’t really see the need for patience yet.

Brighton will be fascinating. A win there and a few more flashes of the way we want to play would be great!

It’s not for isolated matches, it’s for periods of 15+ matches. There’s a huge amount of variability in the stat based on things like big chances that never turn into a shot and rebounds. Over a long sample size, the expectation is these will somewhat balance out between clubs.

Literally what I said :D

Brighton will be tough, they will be well rested. I suspect we will have to grind out another result

Points per game wise last season was worse than 76/7.
Yeah I kjnow and Ive given that an agree, but it's not how I recall that season. We conceded fewer goals per game and quite a few clean sheets, inc wins and CS v LFC and Ips who finished 1st and 2nd i think.

I defo think another season of Ange and we'd have been relegated. Clearly he'd have been fired by then, not even Levy could sit on his hands for that long. Last 10 matches, 4 pts and no clean sheets.
