WhyProblem is that we have no one who can cover RB. Spence has emerged as our first choice LB although he’s a natural right footer. If he’s logging the minutes, he’s going to need a rest too. He can’t just come into the side to take Porro’s spot if he too is running on fumes.

Right, which is why I said Gray’s easiest path to minutes is at FB (RB specifically). Porro and Spence will need a breather and our only other options can only play LB.
Why can’t he cover RB? Your post makes no sense at all. Those three could rotate quite easily, three into two means they get a rest every third week.
Gray will get minutes at CM- Frank has already indicated that by giving him a start there already this season.Right, which is why I said Gray’s easiest path to minutes is at FB (RB specifically). Porro and Spence will need a breather and our only other options can only play LB.
Because our “backup” RB is already starting every game of any consequence at LB while Porro, our first choice RB is starting alongside him. Therefore, if both of our RB options are getting run into the ground, we are going to need another to step up and take some minutes. Why can’t he cover RB? Your post makes no sense at all. I think as ever you entirely miss the point. Which wasn't that its Donnely or Archie. Just that our overall results would not have been impacted by simply sticking with our academy graduates over the 40 million investment in an unready player Grey. But as you want to do this I said over a year ago when you were still full cultist that I dont trust Ange Postecoglou to judge what an elite EPL player looks like. Frank has now zero choice as we HAVE spent the money and wanting Grey for Brentford is not the same as giving him a starting birth at Spurs. There’s a reason Ange and Frank have both looked at Donley and decided he’s not on Archie’s level.

Udogie will come in this weekend mate and they will share minsBecause our “backup” RB is already starting every game of any consequence at LB while Porro, our first choice RB is starting alongside him. Don't like it mate we should get a right back to both spell and push Porro. It’s possible Spence can fill in for both on a 3 man rotation.
RB: Porro 2/3, Spence 1/3
LB: Spence 1/3, Udogie 2/3
Everybody gets an equal share of games minutes in this scenario, but it could be tweaked of course
If we only had two comps to work through, sure. It’s possible Spence can fill in for both on a 3 man rotation.

You might be right, or it could work, but we probably need it work for now until the next transfer window.Don't like it mate we should get a right back to both spell and push Porro.
I’m sure other defenders will feature there in occasional games- VdV, Davies and Gray among them.If we only had two comps to work through, sure.
We have 4 comps to worry about right now and 2 of them are premier comps that require our best at their strongest levels.
Agreed, but VdV and Davies can’t spell Porro at RB, only Gray and Spence can and Spence is playing quite a few minutes himself.I’m sure other defenders will feature there in occasional games- VdV, Davies and Gray among them.

Yes. Him too. He’s squad player standard if we want to kick on.
