I’ll be honest. When ever I’ve seen him I’ve never got the hype. I understand he is very young, but even against poor opponents and pre seasons I never got the vibe he has the potential to be a top premier league player, much the same as donley. Just doesn’t have that one trait (speed, explosiveness, ball control ability etc) that gives him that edge over other players.
Of. You have seen all that in Wilson, Tel and Johnson. Working with Frank and his coaching team may have done him some good.

To be fair despite his issues in the PL I don't think anyone could have foreseen Martin making such a sow's ear of the Rangers job this early into his tenure, and at least attempts to get his teams playing expansive attacking football, on the face of it had they not had a more senior, established player in his position it could have been a good fit. Looking more worthwhile to bring him back in Jan and shop him around the Championship relegation strugglers who need some attacking reinforcements for a 6 month loan and assess him at that level.

That's the point, he went there after they signed Gassama, ridiculous decision.

Watched the first half, he showed some glimpses and had a couple of shots at goal, but was sacrificed for Antman in the 2nd half after Rangers went down to 10 men for a somewhat harsh decision on Diomande, they also didn't get a penalty for handball (one of those ones that are given that never should be IMO for accidental handballs when the arms are up etc.). Ex-Celtic Korean (Oh) scored for Genk ok the break against 10 men.

From the bits I saw, he still has a lot of work to do.

Replaced by ant man at HT
jurassic world avengers GIF by Box Office

This is it, this is football, he's getting opportunities, he needs to be taking them.

It's a long season and premature to be talking about recalling him. But not premature to wonder when he might have a new manager.

He played more inside from the right. Often ended up in the middle.
Rangers are just a mess at the moment . Difficult to rate how he is doing. New manager cannot be far away.
Martin keeps starting him, a new manager probably won’t.

At Wembley, we left Genk with 3 men on the halfway line for our corner. Of course they scored from it...

None of our younger players should be in Scotland. None. Championship or League 1 or abroad but absolutely none in Scottich football. Barbarian shit league.

I watched the game and he’s playing far too safe. He’s not trying to go by players or play in areas where he can hurt the opposition. The mutants were getting restless with him at times. Going to Rangers and being a first team player is a massive step up and to be honest he’s still a youth player when you see him for Rangers.
This loan will show him how hard it is when you play at a lesser level but it’s a massive step up to men’s first team football. The pressure at Rangers to win every game by 3 or 4 goals is msssive.

He’s still a kid and this loan will do him the world of good and I hope it gives him that eye opener that every young player needs what its like in the big bad world of first team football.

It's the whole atmosphere at Rangers which is the reason I want him recalled and sent elsewhere. It's a toxic place and fans are taking a lot out on him because they wanted first team ready players. It's a shot show.

Recall asap and get him to league 1 or the championship

First team football in Scotland is not good enough for our supposedly best prospect to develop. Awful choice of league and club to send him to.

I think the idea was he goes up there and plays in a team flying with a new manager and winning every week but it’s been the complete opposite. It’s a toxic environment just now but it’s another side of the game he’s experiencing as the game gives you more kicks in the balls than pats in the back. Scottish football is good enough for him. If it wasn’t he’d be showing up better. Mikey would get totally swallowed up in the championship just now and if he does get recalled I think he’d be better going abroad.

I honestly think if possible we need to recall him from Rangers if they don't get rid of Russell Martin, he'll learn nothing good there under that incompetent plonker.
He can’t play anywhere other than Rangers till January so he’s better staying and experiencing what it’s like to be at a big club where he’s expected to win and play well every week. If he ever gets in our first team that’s exactly what the demands will be.
