Player Xavi Simons

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The only upside of playing him on the left is Udogie regularly finding acres of space in front of him along the touchline.

Frank will not fall in love with Odobert or Tel overnight,so he'll stay there unless RKM is the secret remedy somehow. Don't like it, but it is what it is.

Problem is that (eg) Odo won't shine if everything else around him is make-shift, chop n change plan B stuff either.

I'd much prefer to see an (eg*) Odo / Xavi / Kudus attack for a stretch and see where that takes us (and *whoever our LW-elect is).

hes weak physically, hes not quick either despite being small, you got to be one hell of a player to survive at this level with them cards dealt.
Players like him & Wirtz seem out of their depth in this league. Bit too physical & fast for them. They seem to suit slower & less physical leagues. But they could adjust & adopt. We shall see

Remember seeing him at EURO 2024 and wasn't that impressed. He was alright, but hardly spectacular. Not sure why he's been hyped so much. Son is still a better player, and we wouldn't have had to spend any money to keep him. Instead we spend 52 m on someone who's maybe Bournemouth level. Frank got this very wrong, and we haven't looked good in attack for a number of games now. Xavi is not the answer.

going off what weve seen, maddison isnt in any danger of losing his shirt.

to be fair, we miss him badly. days like today, he can get on the ball and make something happen.
Madison is finished at the highest level, his body can no longer cope with regular football. Sure get him back and wrap him in cotton wool to use in certain games like yesterday. However we can't build a team around him. Too unreliable

Why compare him to Son? They are different players. Simons shouldn't be playing wide left, that's Frank being too conservative. Simons needs to play centrally as a 10 and we need to sign a proper wide left forward. Until then Frank needs to play whoever else he has at his disposal out there on the left

Because Frank seem to think that Xavi could play in that position when necessary. Of course that is on Frank and not Xavi. But he's not really working out wide. And I don't think he's working through the middle either.

He looked nervous from the start and after a couple of shambolic first touches and overhit passes he lost all his confidence, which is not a good sign. He's much better than he has shown so far though and maybe he is trying too hard, but from now on we should use him as a '10' and just let him do his thing.

He was awful last night let's not dress it up.

Couldn't control the ball twice in the first few minutes which was a sign that he was off it.

We need to give him time, he's a young player in the most demanding league, it's a big step up.

But he needs to play 10, this LW shit needs to end.

Xavi Simons playing on the left and playing poorly = post after post stating he's not playing in his right position.

Brennan Johnson playing on the left and playing poorly=
Not one post bar mine stating he's not playing in his normal position ..literally not one

Keep the same energy and consistency with everyone.
