I tried to. They told me to get out of their garden.
your average fan thinks hanging onto the ball and holding players off makes you a good player, half the reason we cant create fuck all is because we have too many players who ignore easy passes to hang onto the ball and do fuck all with it, spence has started doing it too, there was a point earlier he has a midfielder inside and instead hes trying to hold off a man...for what?? brain dead stuff.
the spence and kudus right hand side is awful in games like today where you need to force the action, serious lack of intelligence and technique down there then, porro is massive for us.
pal is our main midfielder, if hes not going to start, it should be because the 3 who started against burnley are, thats the only midfield 3 we can put together that will take it to the sides where we have more of the ball. bentancur is an absolute filler who does nothing but go backwards and sideways, it sets the tone and its hard to break out of it once the other team has the momentum.
Kudus is not as good as he thinks he is - his opinion of himself is vastly increased by the mediocrity around himI like Kudus, but he is not a player that plays fast. The ball gets stuck on him for far too long.
Taking off the short to celebrate at 1-1 was stupid and I'm sure he knows that. But Palhinha has been arguably our player of the season so far.
The issue is that I don't think him and Bentancur should co-exist in these home games when we are strong favourites. We need to be more creative. That's not either of their fault. It's up to Frank to adapt and get the most out of our squad.
Palinha and Bentancur midfield was perfect for games like PSG and City where both of them were fantastic and take up great defensive positions. But the games against Bournemouth and Wolves were all the evidence you need that they are not goof together when we are expected to dominate the ball and hurt teams.
Our only home win this season came against Burnley when Frank actually rested the 2 of them and started with Gray and Bergval in midfield. He needs to learn!!
Bailed us out today but he’s not a long term solution IMO. 31 next summer.
Great pro though.
Player of the season is Kudus by a country mile.
Palinha was ok before the goal but it definitely wasn’t one of his better games for us.
He did score though and credit to him, he’s popped up with a big one there.
Not our player of the season though
Kudus has been absolutely a useful addition for us. But his usefulness is literally falling off the cliff.
He came on and had such an impact, but by now opposition have figured him out (always takes the ball to byline and then either crosses it or takes ball to the end of the pitch for cutback) and he has been way less useful lately. He HAS TO mix it up. Cut in at times. Release the ball faster. Go to take a shot in earliest possibility not after standing with the ball for few seconds etc.
At the same time Palhinha is getting better and better every game. Was bit rusty with his ball-playing ability at first but he is polishing it. And also has scored 2 goals more while being a DM than Kudus who is an attacking player. Yes - his assists are really valuable too, no argument here, but fucksake his individual goal threat HAS TO IMPROVE. And a lot. When I was watching the Wolves game at the pub with friends, I jumped up when Kudus shot hit the net. Just for that reason - "FUCKYEAA, HE FINALLY SCORED, more of that please now!!" just to see him being 1m+ in offside.
Mate
Kudus usefulness is so far from falling off a cliff I have no idea what you are watching
As it stands right now, without him we have ZERO attacking threat and ZERO ability to hold the ball up in build up.
Hes so far and away our most important player at the moment, you can step back, look at it logically and see the the point against Wolves is the only point we’d have in the Premier League without him.
He has become 2x less impressive from the first game of the season.
Just because the reason I highlighted - every defender he faces knows what he does and this massively decreases the sharpness of our attack. I do agree - we do need Kudus as things stand. But he could be so much more with some tweaks.
You’re wrong about a “country mile”Mate

He had 2 assists against Brighton in a game we came back from 2-0 down.
He had one rough performance vs Wolves, that’s it. Hes been so far our most consistent player by miiiiiiiiilllllllllessssss
Not really by miles, Kudus was invisible against Bournemouth and wasn't great against Wolves.
No-one has really stood out this season, some good performances with the odd stinker thrown in for our top performers, nothing really separating Kudus from Palhinha IMO
VDV probably our most consistent across the 6 matches I think.
I don't think Bentancur has been much use to us this season. He hasn't really given us much in defence or attack.First name on the team sheet.
However, the only time Bentancur should be on that sheet is if JP isn’t playing for some reason. Don’t want to see them playing together again. Particularly against shite teams at home.
