Exactly. As our Norwegian guest says above, there's a gulf in terms of money and the (foreign) talent you can buy but for a few seasons now they have proved to be a compact, very well coached team with a strong sense of who they are. In Spanish we say "como una piña" - like a pineapple, in the "all for one" sense.

To suggest they are laughable amateur fish canners who would struggle in the 4th Division is both insulting and demonstrably wrong.

I would imagine that Frank, being Danish, knows not to underestimate such teams.

:frankthumbs:
I mean to be fair, I remember an interview one of their players gave after the first leg last season, saying he didn't even think we were that good, just that much faster, that much fitter and that much stronger that it essentially didn't matter.

I respect teams like Bodo who harken back to the earlier days of the European cup when teams from smaller nations in Europe could defy odds and put together a good enough team (without the advent of modern scouting which has made it nigh on impossible for countries like Norway to keep their star players on their shores) to make a splash in Europe. But realistically, my pragmatic opinion is that dropping points to teams like this says far more about how substandard a side we would be, as opposed to how dogged and plucky Bodo are.

We will pay a heavy price this season for not signing a quality winger this summer. You can’t compete properly in 4 competitions with only one decent wide player.

We need Odobert to have a miracle explosion quickly because teams are already figuring out that the only one of our wide players they need to pay any attention to is Kudus.

For comparison, lowly West Ham started their game yesterday with a front three of Bowen, Summerville and Fullkrug.

Are Johnson, Odobert and Richarlison even better?
