A lot of people will have had enough of him by the end of the season imo. frustrating to watch and probably more frustrating to play with. He was the same at West Ham. Can hold the ball up well back to goal but Its a struggle to see him being part of a well functioning attack as how can you build chemistry and fluency like that
Well our problem is our other forwards are shit. So his lack of goals is going to be an issue. You need the 2 forwards who play with him in a 3 to be banging them in. Because he won’t be.
If people are sick of him, they may as well stop following the team for a couple years because he’s the best winger/forward we have and we can’t upgrade 6 squad spots at 3 positions in one or two seasons
This was my worry with him. Watched a fair bit of him at West Ham and he was always flashy, but actually doing the right thing, he didn't do most of the time. He'll get your bum off a seat a la Lennon, but like him, he needs to make the right decision, not beat his man 15 times and kick it off him when he tries to cross, or refuse to play the easy ball which would release us.
Lennon also usually had 2 strikers to feed. Kudus has barely got one.
He should still be beating the first man with a cross or releasing the ball when he's supposed to. These were issues I seen at West ham when I had watched him, still an issue now.
Maybe they both should change their names to Brendan Kudus and Mohamad Johnson.
That'll get the best out of both of them.

Frank's tactics seem to be to just rely on Kudus beating his man and delivering a cross. It's really not much more than that. Of course, Kudus will find it hard beating his man repeatedly. He'll grow tired of this very limited role.
I think he's been good for us. I was impressed by how the Bodo players handled him, but really, we can't be playing like that. Every team already knows how to stop us.
Last year we had nothing on the right wing with BJ. This season, we only have the right wing and nothing on the left.
Frank needs to sharpen up, and we need a new signing. But regardless of who we recruit, we can't continue playing this terrible attacking football.

The annoying thing with him is that when he does cross the ball it’s normally lethal and he can clearly hit a ball given he had a few chances against wolves….. but 9/10 he just holds onto it that few seconds too long or wants to take on that extra man. Can get frustrating to watch
a good coaching team would have kudus whipped into gear, his game is very simple, trying to overcomplicate it.
the problem is, if you dont have a football brain, theres limits you can get too.
4 assists in 6 games. Highest in the premier league this season so far (tied with Greelish).
Most duels won in the league (47), and the 3rd most tackles in our team (behind Romero and Paulinha)
So, he wins the ball, and he sets up goals - I'd say that's what we paid the $$$ for. If we can get our strikers firing, he could very well top the assists stats for the league this year.
Frank was never my first choice, nor was he in my top 3 coaching candidates. So far to me he seems a lot like he was at Brentford- a bit boring and defensive of football. I thought he'd open up more here but so far it seems very risk-averse or even overly-cautious. It's clear he doesn't have the best suite of attacking players right now though so I find it hard to be too critical when I really think about it. I do hope the club properly back him, and at least get him a legit left-winger so we can see what football under him can be like when he has more confidence in his offensive talent.
As for Kudus he simply needs more credible talent around him. Richarlison has, at best, half a brain, Odobert is still growing into himself, and Xavi is only one man. He's taking on an enormous amount of responsibility for creating offense for us so far. I'm actually a bit upset with him because it seems like he's putting himself into unnecessarily physical challenges- I'd really rather he lay off just a bit and let some of the other less useful players do the rougher work. Great player though without question, hard to see how anyone can be too upset with him. The goals will come!
He’s having to carry our entire attack at the moment because he can actually hold the ball up and play football. So when 90% of play goes through him it’s of course very frustrating to watch him overplay and lose the ball as often as he does.
It’s not an easy problem for Frank to solve with the players he has available. We don’t have a single decent option at LW.

It’s bizarre that some are criticising him with what he offers. If he never came on last night we lose that game by 3 or 4. He works like fuck first which is a pre requisite for a footballer but he takes the ball in and takes pressure of us. He takes us up the pitch. He creates chances. He just needs to add goals.
Good players need good players around him. He’s the type that needs players to come and play with him. Xavi as a ten is very clever in how he gets on the ball but he likes to peel off into that inside left midfield position but that’s because when kudus is on the ball the space is open there. I’d like Xavi to go and get closer to Kudus so he can play with someone who’s good and sharp on the ball.

If we had two attackers alongside him of his level (but with different strengths and weaknesses) we’d be flying.
