Match Spurs v Bodo/Glimt (A) - Champions League - Tues 30th Sept - KO: 8pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

For what we spent on the youngsters, we could've had a few proven players.
I get you but think we went for young players for two main reasons - wages and if they hit their expected ceiling, that ceiling is a player we can’t afford (fee or wages) when they are ready made. It’s basically a gamble. Same reason we have a youth team, 100 don’t make it, then we get a Kane.

The way we attack. Just compare it with the opposition and see how fluid they look. Our build up play is extremely slow, and it's all about safety first. Yes, we have a more solid defence, but you can't just play not to concede goals. All we do is play it to winger for a cross. That's not good football.

I'm completely missing smart link up play. We can blame the players, but that's something you work in training so everyone are on the same page.

It's really uninspiring watching his game plans, and the teams are coping with it easily.

It's insane the takes I am reading tonight.

Yes we played poorly.

Frank played a team to rest as many as the starting 11 as he could.

But the squad just doesn't have the depth required, yet some how asked to lead us to the CL, with a in-cohesive mess of a squad.

And we have only lost 1 in 9 games in all competitions?
This has been said several times tonight yet no one acknowledges the fact that the team that played today is, man for man, overwhelmingly better than the team we faced. Any one of the players that started tonight would walk into any Norwegian team and become the best player in the league.

A squad worth £800m worth a squad worth £50m yet we were out-coached, out-thought, outfought and outplayed.

What a daft comment. I"ll talk football with anyone adult enough to do so.
What did you do? Oh yeah, attempted to ridicule me with ageist "jokes" about how senile I must be because of my age. Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm still in full control of my faculties.

My knees however - are a nightmare.

When it comes to supporting Spurs, I don't quit and I don't fall into depths of despair because things aren't going well. neither do I seek to have players hung from lampposts because they don't play like Pele.
Oh stop it Mick, 95% of your posts have fuck all to do with football. It’s just an endless stream of bitching and digging at others so you can get the argument you came looking for.

Then when it kicks off you turn on the I’m just an innocent, friendly old fella routine and all these horrible people are to blame. Not me guv..

It’s the same tiresome routine every time.

In no way is this an excuse for our play tonight but...

The pitch seemed a lot more of a factor than it did five or six months ago. Harder to play on, more slippery, harder to judge the run of the ball.

Two things I noticed - first, the bounce of the ball was unpredictable. There was a long ball played from deep in our half to the centre circle in the closing minutes. Instead of the bounce taking it on, as our midfielder expected, it seemed to bounce nearly vertically. Secondly, there was that weird slightly raised crease just inside the touchline on the left that threw Djed Spence when he tried a bit of skill. A crease on a football pitch?

You didn't watch our last few games?

After a strong start, we were outclassed by Bournemouth. He said he had learnt from it.

We won against Villarreal, but we had an awful game and were lucky with the huge GK error.

Then we drew with Brighton, beat Doncaster and last weekend a horrible draw against Wolves, bottom of the league at the time.

Todays game was another flop.

Can't really say we're getting better. Would you?

Righto
Have a nice life

Really?

Outside the starting 11, the quality is not good enough, simple as. And if they are good enough, then why do the same players perform so poorly so regularly?

The squad needs an overhaul. And to many people are defending to much mediocrity.

I have nothing against any of them personally, but a lot of them are not good enough.
I also think we have a lot of players that shouldn't be near our team. Still, Franks job is to make them play well as a unit. And Bodo shows that you don't need fantastic individual players to play good football. It's a team game, and how we perform as a team is Frank's responsibility.

Sarr
Bergvall
VdV
Richarlison
Porro
Spence

A team featuring these should have pressed their socks off today, unless artificial pitch somehow alters pressing as well. Frank instead asked them to sit inside their own halves, and refuse to even engage with the opposition beyond that.

There's conservatism, and there's that.

Yeah, we were poor and deserved to lose. However, Bodo were good - they passed the ball well, pressured and were fast in transition. As I pointed out last night, they have a very good record at home in Europe and until last years SF against us, had not lost at home by 2 goals in the last decade.

A win was possible, but objectively, a draw is a decent result - even if the performance wasn't.

I'm not a professional manager, so sadly I won't be able to try to my hand.

I don't see how he can be absolved of this circumstantial blame. Ange wasn't, rightfully so. Nor should Frank. Tactics and selections have been poor. Subs poor. If we even half decent going forward and just couldn't put the ball in the net, id be happy enough. But we look completely devoid of any idea. There are worse sides than this, believe it or not that can play well. The Bodo side for a start.

I'm sorry but this is just football devoid of any ideas or plan. There aren't the little green shoots I foolishly hope to see in every game. It's the same one dimensional stuff. Teams are creating good opportunities against us and not scoring. That won't last forever. Our fixture list has been kind. When it ramps up at the end of next month, we're fecked if we play like this.

We've also played out best football with 5 at the back so far, I fucking hate it, but those have been the best performances, but he won't go back to it and keeps persistong with this same formation which has to shoehorn one of our shit left wingers into the starting XI. This just feels like a bad fit.
This is just silly post with absolutely no context of what has been happening at the club for the last few years, decade or two.

You have absolutely no nuanced thought about how Frank is supposed to get us into CL, progress in CL, and aim to challenge for both cups, with a squad that is paper thin, chock full of mediocre players, and only 6 games into a new season, inheriting a cluster-fuck of mess that left us in 17th last season.

And you say he is devoid of idea's, but has only lost one game in ten matches, currently sitting 4th in the league.

Thou needs to sit back and be patient, because if you can understand the circumstances of what has been happening, then don't say anything at all.

No manager in the world would be able to sort out this fecking mess Levy left us in less than 6 games.

Poch took 6 months to before things finally started to click and players brought into his method... Woolwich embarrassed us in Poch's first game against them... We lost 3-0 or 3-1 one, something like that an ran rings round us.

Posting stuff like that is embarrassing.

Very poor from almost everyone tonight.

I think the only player I was happy with was Gray. I'd also spare Richy a bollocking as he had absolutely no service. Everyone else seemed to be well off it.

Obviously the positive is we pulled it back for a point and I like that we have. Performance on the whole was awful though.
The much-maligned Archie Gray, I agree, he made a difference. I was surprised how little impact our subs had, Xavi playing centrally especially.

Well we lost those fixtures to Wolves and Brighton last year, so I guess we are getting better from that point of view.

I thought Kudus was the bees knees tonight.
The number of times he kept the ball after a poor pass with the defender up his arse. He turned the game around and was my MOTM.
And Oddjob should have scored from his cross.
