Match Spurs v Bodo/Glimt (A) - Champions League - Tues 30th Sept - KO: 8pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Frank hit the nail on the head. Our passing was dreadful. Couldnt build anything because we couldnt complete more than 5 passes
He waited until we went a goal down to make any changes. Yeah some individual performances were horrific but Frank's approach is far too passive. He should be on the line screaming at players to press up! Was embarrassing just sitting back and letting Bodo batter us for 45 mins. It was like he was happy to keep it at 0-0. I don't mind doing that against top teams but come on. He needs to show a bit more urgency in these kinda games. We robbed a draw in the end because we threw the kitchen sink at them. But them first 45 mins was mostly on Frank. It's a concerning trend. We don't take the game to opponenets and put them under pressure. We almost let them have the ball and build in confidence. Reminds me of Mourinho

This favourable fixture nonsense again. Wolves are our bogey side, we hadn’t won at West Ham for 5 years, it’s been a very long time since we won at Brighton.

Rather than do a comparison to last year when we finished 17th, I went back a year further to Ange’s first season and us finishing 5th and compared the same games

Frank

Burnley H = 3-0 - 3 points
Man City A = 2-0 - 3 points
Bournemouth H = 0-1 - 0 points
West Ham A = 3-0 - 3 points
Brighton A = 2-2 - 1 point
Wolves H = 1-1 - 1 point
Total points = 11

Ange

Burnley H = 2-1 - 3 points
Man City A = 3-3 - 1 point
Bournemouth H = 2-1 - 3 points
West Ham A = 1-1 - 1 point
Brighton A = 4-2 - 0 points
Wolves H = 1-2 - 0 points
Total points = 8

In addition to that, Ange didn’t have Europe of any description to deal with and we were out of the League cup immediately.

So stop with the favourable fixture nonsense as it’s demonstrably not true
Comparing any manager with Ange will make them look like Ancelotti.

We have Leeds next but after that it's going to get tougher. It will be a good time for evaluating Frank's progress.

And if you take out our Wolves performance out of the equation, take out City too, because we're their bogey team.

But again, the problem is HOW we've been playing recently. Ange also started very well, and people seem to already have forgot about it. There were so many worrying signs, but he had a great start, and it made people deluded.

It was a poor starting line up, the front 3 being the very definition of footballing poverty.

Bentancur and Sarr were passengers and Spence had probably his worst ever game for us.

The big issue in the first half was that without Romero we couldn’t play out from the back as they pinned Porro and Spence back meaning Danso was the free man and he just doesn’t have that in his game. Neither does VDV and Vic can’t kick.

So then you need an out ball, instead we had a training cone that couldn’t trap his own arse with his own hands.

Could a midfielder drop deep and drive us up the pitch like Dembele - could they fuck. Could a midfielder drop deep and play us through the press like Modric - could they fuck.

I thought our summer window was pretty good, but we need plenty more to sort the mess out and Frank needs to do better than last night with what he has as it was obvious it wouldn’t work before a ball was kicked - a truly bizarre starting 11
The front 3 cost £130m, hardly poverty !!

Am in the doghouse with the missus for shouting too much at the telly and upsetting the neighbours ! That was a terrible game.
Richarlison reminds me of my boys team back in Hainault where we had the son of the coach as our centre forward, he only got a game because his dad did all the admin, ran the team and organised everything so we had to put up with having this complete useless passenger as our no 9.

Richys performance last night was criminal. I like the bloke overall, but that was indefensible

Terrible performance, only upped our game when we went two down. We were lucky that they missed some golden opportunities to increase their lead. Still, to look on the positive side, we did fight back and showed some resilience in getting an equaliser. I think that we shouldn't poo-poo own goals, it at least shows that we're getting the ball in the penalty area and putting the pressure on. Sure, it would be lovely to see a worldie now and again, but in certain games, I'm just relieved that the ball crossed the line.
Let's see how other teams fare at Bodo's ground before we beat ourselves up over this result.
Mrs P, what did Mr P think about how the lads played?

Early days, but I’m beginning to think Frank is almost the opposite of Ange. His only attacking plan seems to be counter attacking from the back. I’d like to see us on the front foot from the getgo against inferior teams.

Losing Maddison was a bigger setback than I understood at the time. A quality player with good awareness. He can make other players better. Simons will be that type of player at some point and probably offer more attacking threat, but he isn't there yet.
Exactly this.

We don't have a high calibre senior playmaker now that Madders are out. I'm not saying Madders is high calibre, but he is senior, and has a lot of experience.

Now we are putting our trust in kids like Bergvall and Simons to be that spark in the middle of the park.

I think we looked much more composed and solid in central midfield the first few games, when we played Palhinha-Bentancur-Sarr there. Since we have been resting Sarr and Palhinha some games, we have been looking shaky. I would actually go back to that midfield three for a couple of games.

We need a 1.2 billion transfere fund....
Let's hike the ticket prices!

Think Dota 2 GIF by Alliance

I will preface this by saying I haven’t seen a replay of the game.
Did TF get his selections wrong? Why did we start the game with no Kudus or Xavi in the lineup? If we were going with a more defensive mindset then why no Paulinho? I just don’t understand Frank’s thinking in his starting 11.

For those of you who’ve watched the game can I ask you, did we lack creativity in the first half?
Another question I have is does Brennan Johnson suit Frank’s set up? I think we can agree that he is fairly limited in his skill set. He seemed to suit Ange’s gunho style of play better than Frank’s more cautious approach.

I’m not happy with the result. This is a game we should’ve won, despite the conditions etc. So did TF’s team selection let us down? Or was it the players? Or were BG a better side than the one we beat last year? Or maybe a bit of all of the above?

I’m not having a go at him or any of the team, merely posing the question/s. As I said I’m yet to watch the game.
We didn't get past the halfway line first half, so hard to say!
