Edit:
SHAREHOLDERS APPROVE INVESTMENT PROPOSAL AT EGM
Wealdstone Football Club (2000) Ltd is pleased to confirm that shareholders today voted overwhelmingly in favour of the special resolution proposed at this morning’s Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM).

The motion was passed with 98.75% of votes in favour.

As a result of this approval, Lakefront Football Partners LLC will now move to finalise the legal agreements within the agreed period of exclusivity, which runs until 31st October 2025.

This process will formally confirm Nick Semaca as the majority shareholder and new investor in Wealdstone Football Club, working in partnership with and supported by the existing Board of Directors.

Today’s decision marks a significant milestone in the Club’s journey, opening an exciting new chapter that combines long-term financial stability with the resources to match our ambition for growth both on and off the pitch.

The Board would like to thank all shareholders for their engagement and support throughout this process and looks forward to sharing further updates in due course as the Club moves into this new and
promising era.

Being a fickle sort, thought I'd wait for Chesham to win for a Conference South update!

Hornchurch really have defied expectations being 11 matches unbeaten, drawing with Horsham yesterday, the only really 'expected' teams in top 7 being Torquay and Maidenhead. Torquay winning all of their home games, looking strong and Maidenhead seem to have settled in to some form after a rocky start.

Other runners and riders are interesting, Maidstone are distinctly mid table, with plenty of potential to move up, Dorking sit 9th only 3 points off the play offs, they slow started last season and came good, so I'd expect the same of them, they drew 1-1 at the newly professional Chelmsford, decent result.

Really strange to see Eastbourne (without a win in their first 10) drawing away at Ebbsfleet and Daggers in the bottom 4 losing at home to Maidstone. Things are looking a bit toxic at Victoria Road at the moment and I did see some fans saying Lee Bradbury, their manager wasn't up to it.

AFC Totton have started their first season in the South very well, sitting 5th, beating Weston Super Mare yesterday, who are currently second in the league.

Slough pulled off quite a coup with a win at Hampton & Richmond yesterday too, feels like this is much more competitive league across the board at the moment.

Salisbury sit bottom with just 5 points and this is a bit of a surprise as they had attracted new investment and it seems like it hasn't quite come to fruition for them.

Chesham have had a long time without a win but not playing terribly, last match losing to a contentious penalty at Weston beat Enfield 4-1 yesterday, but the high winds definitely played a part, one down at half time, scoring 4 in the second half, so all of the goals happened at the same end! Key moment being a sending off for Enfield on the edge of the box, the resulting free kick getting Chesham 2-1 up, so currently firmly midtable in 11th but out of the FA Cup, the 4th round next week will see most league sides making a push for 1st round proper.

It’s a tragic accident. Bit like that ice hockey guy who had his neck sliced. You’re wondering if it’s lucky it’s not happened before or is it a one in 100’000 occurrence.
For instance more players have died of heart attacks on the pitch in recent memory due to pushing their physical limits.

The FA are getting pelters in certain quarters but most grounds you go to at lower league have these types of walls around the pitch.

If they say clubs have to change that then it’s going to be a real problem for a lot of clubs to get that work done if they get given specific timeframes.

Not sure what the answer is going to be tbh.

Even large football stadiums around the country have huge slopes as they get near the goal too. Man uniteds is super steep with bricks at the bottom!

Don’t know where the line is drawn at a safe run off distance. The London stadium???
My dad and I talk about this all the time. We play 5 a side indoors and we've had a couple of incidents where people have gone into the brick wall. Someone broke an arm, another had the top of his head split open. I don't understand why sports halls have exposed brick walls in areas where people are running around not fully in control of their body.

The short term fix is to put some sort of protective barrier around brick walls e.g. Air cushioning or foam or something. It's better than going head first into a brick wall.

The downslopes on the side of the pitch are a problem though. It's not possible for players to slow down quick enough without sufficient run off area. I actually think an up slope would be safer.

The advertising hoardings at most clubs are also too close to the pitch. The number of times I've seen players go straight into them. I've also seen other players being pushed into them. Personally think that should be a red card offence for endangering player safety but also crowd safety.

FA seriously need to consider this across all levels of the game.

Nice summary. “Eastbourne” being at the bottom is a big surprise. Bloody hilarious though.

Maidstone 0.0 Chesham yesterday.
Bit dull to be honest. Chesham looked a decent footballing side whilst Stones kept hoofing it forward. Straight red for a Stones forward on about 75 and they then missed a pen 3 mins into added time.
Not a bad afternoon as you can have a beer on the terraces.

Saw the highlights, didn't look a great game, apparently Maidstone have a bit of form on not converting penalties.

Did a good job at Wealdstone.

I fail to see why you think his comments are ill advised?
He's very new to the job and could be accused of alienating his experienced players so pubicly, very early in his reign.

The reactions that caught my eye...

As someone who goes home and away, Just as pissed off with that interview as I was when I saw it yesterday. Hardly helping with morale and alienating the experienced players who can help get us out of this mess. Youth and loans aren’t the answer, not taken by him so far

He’s probably going to regret this interview. Bracknell are a good side with some good experienced players, I don’t think throwing them under the bus is the correct way to go. It will also make recruiting new players difficult

Bit harsh that ! Not sure I can agree senior players let the side down . Competed well & looked organised against a very good side . Too much emotion involved when doing these interviews immediately after full time

easy enough to cover up concrete walls with coverings

cheap too

How thick do they need to be? I guess there’s no point putting something there that doesn’t stop the issue.

I think the problem highlighted by the first player who seriously hurt himself (but didn’t die) was that the run off area is too small. I think less than 2m is standard. 1.8m.

He wanted them to extend the legal run off area.

Putting on 20cm? 30cm? foam is only going to reduce that run off area.
Then say you run into that full speed fly off and over the wall as I would imagine it’s quite slippy in the rain and fall over the wall at the other side out of control and break your neck.

Whose fault is that if just a quick fix with no real thought about the other consequences was thought about?

Then the FA just get blamed for that instead!
