Competition Are we playing for 5th ?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The next month and a half will be very decisive in where we will finish this season I feel.

Villa
Everton (A)
Chelsea
ManU
Woolwich (A)
Fulham
Newcastle (A)

As far as the race for top 4 or 5 is concerned, we could be left in the dust after failing to even hit the double digits in points during this brutal stretch.

Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst.

Other game tomorrow Liverpool v Man Utd.
A draw would be very acceptable.
WHU v Brentford on Monday is 19th versus 16th.
After game 8, unless we lose by 6 goals, we can't be any worse than 6th.
A draw tomorrow we go above B'mouth and 4th.
Any score win tomorrow we go above City and minimum 3rd.
Any score win and a Liverpool draw or worse we go second.

Frank had a great record with Brentford when playing top 6 sides, apart from us strangely enough.
We currently average 2 pts per game. Don’t think that will continue all season. 11 pts would be reasonable , would leave us on 25pts from 14. That’s 1.8 per game …68pts over a season. Around 4th or 5th.
As we might have some sort of strike force very shortly it could be even better.
If the home form doesn’t improve …no chance.

Need to win 4 of those and take a point off the others.

Yeah just for own self belief and confidence otherwise we will go back to being the old spurs and losing a game even before going onto the pitch. If we want top 4 then go out and play like that impose ourselves. Looks like teams like Bmouth, palace, Brighton arnt going away and we need to stay in touching distance.

I have long thought that 10th will be about our place given our squad abilities and our heavy commitments

To finish higher we need to get greater depth and creativity in our midfield and forwards, and we need to demonstrate on the field a greater fluidity and cohesion than has been evident so far

It starts today..............

I am ot worried at all about the games away at Woolwich and Newcastle. The banana skins are the Fulham and Chelsea games.
Not worried about the away games at Woolwich and Newcastle ? They consistently beat us . Losing to Chelsea isn’t a banana skin either. The liklihood is we will do well to come away with 1 point in those three games

We won't actually go winless in 7, but at the same time we look like we could drop points in any of those. We either dropped points or were quite unconvincing against teams like Wolves, Bodo and Leeds. None of these 7 teams are worse than these 3.

Something like 3-1-3 or 2-2-3 wouldn't surprise me at all: 8-10 points out of 21 basically. 1-2-4 for 5 points would be a nightmare scenario, but I don't see us sinking that deep.

If any of the teams that we are neck and neck with at the moment go on a run in this stretch, they'll built an almost insurmountable lead on us come December. Admittedly not many teams are capable of such a thing, but it would hurt our aspirations greatly even if one or two did it.

Be interesting this time around, Frank is a very good OOP coach and his record against top 6 clubs is excellent

We are until we see one of our rivals put together a consistent run which no-one has managed to do this season.

Teams like Palace, Bournemouth and Brighton will be around the top 4/6 places until they got to start playing 2 games per week and have to rotate their squads then the inevitable drop off happens.

Our squad isn't up to much but it's good enough to chase 5th, mainly because our rivals aren't up to much either.
