Match AS Monaco vs Tottenham Hotspur. Wednesday the 22nd of October 2025 UCL

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I didn't know anything about this live screening and couldn't see it on the Spurs website, so I thought I'd 'Ask Spurs' virtual assistant, using the search term 'Monaco Live Screening'. Here's the extremely helpful reply...

"I did not find specific details about a live screening of the Monaco Grand Prix. However, F1® DRIVE LIVE offers live screenings of a 2025 Formula 1 Grand Prix at F1 DRIVE - London, which includes live entertainment, unlimited VR5 simulator sessions, and the option to upgrade to a karting session. If you are interested in attending a live Grand Prix screening, this may be a suitable option."

...well, at least it tried.
ST holders get emails inviting to this sort of thing and there's a ballot. I was (un)lucky this time :)

Tel could still be added as a temporary Solanke replacement.

UEFA: "Clubs can admit the temporary replacement of just one outfield player who is ruled out for an extended period of time, with a long-term injury or illness."

I'm not sure if Solanke would qualify under that rule because TF said that he's back training and will return soon. He said it was a minor surgery and he should be back soon...

Liverpool and Chelsea both brought replacements in: Liverpool added Chiesa to their squad after Leoni tore his ACL and would be out for a year and Chelsea replaced Dario Essugo, who had surgery in September and will be out until at least January, with Buonanotte.

I don't think another month or so would get any sympathy from UEFA.

I wouldn't even mind Gray starting ahead of Palhinha for this one tbh. Maybe the 3 youngsters in the middle might add the energy we need.

No fancy bullshit for this one. Direct ball into box for Richi and Muani to cause issues.

Solanke's injury does qualify as long-term so no real reason not to add Tel.

Probably worth looking at the bench options too :
Uncertain Injury Status - Romero, Davies plus Solanke (injured)

12 man Bench : Kinsky, Austin, Porro, Gray, , Bentancur, Simons, Odobert, Johnson, Scarlett, Byfield (CB), T. Thompson (LW) and Williams-Barnett (no 10)

Monaco aren't that great.
Got slapped 4-1 by European powerhouse Club Brugge.
Drew 1-1 with Angers at the weekend who are 2nd bottom of the French League.
We should go there and play with flair and creativity but we all know it'll be a shit load of defensive players as we try to keep a clean sheet and nick a goal with a set piece.

There are 2 CL matches (including this one) before a 2 week international break in November.

If there was any significant doubt Solanke would not be back in November for the remaining 4 CL matches in League phase (and/or Kulusevski back in November ?) I think we'd probably have made the change from Solanke to Tel already. As it hasn't I'd guess Frank thinks Solanke back in mid November is a better squad option than Tel now - and meanwhile Tel plays in PL so will get minutes and resting other forwards.

I can't see the point of playing Richarlison...
