Player Dejan Kulusevski

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Kulusevski, like nearly everyone of our players, is better in absence, and by perception of what they offer, than the reality of their presence.

When that changes, we will have a really strong squad of players.

So we have absolutely NO idea when he will be back, right :D ?

Also, once he will be back... where will we play him :D ?

He has played for us in either #10 or RW.
For RW we have Kudus who does really well there.
For 10 we have Xavi that has not been really good on the wing.

Either we shove him to 10 ? Or we push Kudus to LW and Deki to RW with Xavi in the middle? interesting dilemma.

He'll be a backup 10 and RW, with a chance to push for a starting spot. Its hard to see him decisively ousting either of Xavi or Kudus though, which means we could see him exit in the summer or perhaps one more season.

Ah,yeh, ofc not.

I mean how stupid of me to suggest that physically strong and tall player that has scored 22 and assisted further 22 goals in EPL could even compete with physically significantly smaller player that has whole 1 assist in EPL so far. Stupid me :D !

In all seriousness though, we'd need him back as soon as possible and SO FAR Xavi has done next to nothing (which to be fair is still more than Odobert that has actually done nothing :D ) . So considering the latter I think that player that will lose his minutes in main side will be no else than Odobert (not either Xavi nor Kudus). Question is - how to set up that trio in most reasonable way. OR if Xavi do not find his feet and start to have bigger impact, then maybe -

----------Solanke----Kudus---------
-------------Kulusevski-------------
-------Sarr---------Bergval--------
--------------Palhinha------------- ?

I wasn’t trying to belittle you. Kulu is a worse RW than Kudus and has never had a consistent run at the 10 before- Xavi is a full international for Netherlands playing regularly for them at 10 or on the wing. He played 10 at his last club.

I have plenty of faith in Kulu- just take a look back in this thread where I defend him during the entire Ange era. I’m simply stating what I think is likely to happen.

Also Kulu has never looked good at LW so I can’t really see him being much of an option there.

Hopefully we play him as an 8 which he did for a little bit. Can't be any worse than watching this Benta/Pal double pivot, which excited me just as much as the Sissoko/Winks one

Been saying for a couple years Deki should be used as a CM. Not pacey but he's big, strong, knows how to protect the ball, can carry it up the pitch, pass it, head it, can also make darting runs into the box. I trust him to win the ball back too, he ain't afraid of going into duels. And the kid's a brainiac, you need that in midfield.

No way he can't be a better 8 than Bentancur or even Sarr and young Luke.

Agree with all of the above.

I actually did not think you tried to belittle me, I was more trying to be sarcastic :P

Agreed that Kulu is not as good as RW as Kudus is.
Though Kulu was THE player of the-half-season in the first half of last one (I think that one? recent periods have melted together in my head) where he was best and most consistent performer for us. While at the same time, Xavi has done nothing of note in any of position he has played for us SO FAR.

Anyway, as I said in the last post - I think as things stand Odobert is one losing most from it, so mentioned Kudus and Xavi should retain their place. Rather question would be how to use the trio in most reasonable way.
Actually Kudus did lay foundations to our goal in the weekend from LW, so maybe he'll do well there too...
