The club/player culture has been blamed before. Managers come and go. Players come and go. The culture remains.

Honestly, Conte's post Southampton rant about the owners and players was 100% relevant at the time. Was years before he said it and has been years since he did.

With Levy gone we need a cultural change and hopefully Frank can lead that. When he joined he banged on about the culture at Brentford being a team effort and one that takes time to build. He intimated its importance in interviews while there. The ENIC thread has been full for years with people rightly saying Levy prioritised finances and winning transfer deals over actually winning on the pitch. Maybe with him gone it can be achieved. Who knows, but I definitely know it will take longer than 3 months.

Some people are getting very puritanical and holier than thou. Interpreting any grumbling at performances as some kind of revolt against the manager and that he needs to go. That's not the case. Not many serious people are thinking that he needs to be sacked any point soon I don't think.

However, if you think that fans are going to, or even should, sit on their hands and vacantly smile, and then check back in, in two years time and see how we're doing before offering any feedback. You're a bit delusional.. We don't need to be a super team at the moment.. But there does need to be some flashes in games of real thunder and intent. Otherwise the job will quickly become very difficult for him and the players.

... That doesn't mean I advocate booing at half time or full time whenever we aren't winning. It's self defeating and perpetuates a tough environment to work.. But we're far from the only club where it's a habit now.. Booing at the drop of a hat is a part of Premier League football now unfortunately.

We created enough to win...Villa had 2 nothing chances from range and scored both.

It wasnt a perfect performance by any stretch of the imagination but we did enough to win.
Creating chances (and I don't remember Martinez working that hard to be honest, so what do we mean by a "chance" here?) and not scoring means it was not a good or good plus performance ... isn't that a fair point?

100% correct.

Press were really onto him about the lack of positive football, and not playing sarr over a defensive double pivot.
Wonder if he's had to deal with so much questioning of not having enough attacking attractive football before

Villa literally got two gosls out the blue.

Exactly like England during the last tournament where everyone criticised England for relying to heavily on moments of individual skill and magic. Just what Villa did.

The scoreline, never represented the game at all.

Probably not, at Brentford, expectations are a lot lower than a club who are 9th richest club in world football.
For example, I have no problem with the long throw tactics as part of an overall strategy.
But when, it becomes the main focal point because the team can barely muster an attempt on goal, it becomes a hard watch that he could get away with at his previous club.
Tottenhams status both globally and financially, should demand more than what has been on offer.
Since the West Ham game, the team has dropped off a cliff in all comps with performances.
Frank and his management team need, to earn their money and find a solution to a misfiring, ponderous front three.
Xavi has been a let down, Chelsea dodged a bullet there that is for sure.
Would not be surprised to see Everton turn the team over Sunday, absolutely got away with it Wednesday night and, in the round before.
CL we are not, in the EPL , looking like a midtable team with a midtable manager.

so what do we mean by a "chance"
off the top of my head

Tel missing the ball from 5 yds out with an open goal
Kudus needlessly being offside for his "goal", being onside hed have still got the shot in
Muani airshot late on 6yds out
Johnson blasting the volley miles over the bar from 10 yds

Shouldve been 2 or 3-0 up after 25 mins

at HT take Kudus off for a rest and put our breakaway goal king Johnson on

hey presto everyone happy

I am unconvinced by Bergval and Sarr. Especially in Frank's CM2 system.

Has to be Gray for me. He's capable of getting his foot on the ball and seeing those progressive passes.

He's picking Bentancur and Palhinha for solidity but as you know there's a huge trade off in terms of any kind of fluid possession linking midfield to attack.

I'm sure Frank is aware but how he intends to adapt, if he is indeed reevaluating, or how long he persists remains to be seen.

First 20-25 minutes we looked great, agree. After that not it was an arm wrestle to half time, and second half I would say we were poor.

2 months by the way. He’s been here for 2 fucking months. Lost 2 games in that time but sack him cuz we aren't playing expansive football with Richie up top.

The summer window was a disaster. Cause we did not sign what we needed. A quality left winger, a quality 8 and a quality striker. This is what we needed. Instead we pounced on opportunities, which yes Kudus and Xavi was good but we didn’t do what was necessary.
