He’s a warrior and he’s the type you want when it’s not going well.Absolutely!
He has that elite mentality we should be looking for in all our signings.
The way he was pissed off with only a draw against Wolves spoke volumes.

I honestly would add in Danso and Bentancur into that as they take no shit and win nearly if not every header they go for in both boxes. If we could add composure and natural ability to our squad then we are definitely heading in the right direction. I think we are a horrid watch just now but we are winning games again and we have to give it time regarding being better on the eye. What’s new. He was top for two seasons at Fulham. And this time he’s scored3 goals as well.
For the first time for a long time we have 3 big hard bastards in the team. Cuti, Micky and Palhinha. Makes a difference. In the 80s we had 4 along the back, although not all big. Plus Archie who got stuck in.
You don’t win trophies with nice players.
We need to sign more with that mentality and it will spread. I think JP and Kudus were both immense signings, and I'd argue have been our best players so far this season. With Cuti and VdV just behind. He’s a warrior and he’s the type you want when it’s not going well.
Would you put Micky in that category? I'm not sure, though I will say that he has improved physicality and aerially under Frank. What’s new. He was top for two seasons at Fulham. And this time he’s scored3 goals as well.

I know madders polarises our support but he’d add so much composure and guile to the side which is badly lacking. Having Paulinha in the engine room and madders offering what we need Xavi to do would take us up another level. Xavi will get there in my opinion though. We need to sign more with that mentality and it will spread. Very well.
Or Deki, who's back before madders. I agree Xavi will come good though as well. Some great options once all are back and Xavi has had some time.I know madders polarises our support but he’d add so much composure and guile to the side which is badly lacking. It's a big IF, but if we can get Madders and Kulu back to where they were, and sign a Kudu quality LW, we are really in business.I know madders polarises our support but he’d add so much composure and guile to the side which is badly lacking. tbf, he was bought for big money by Bayern. We are the beneficiaries of a manager (Kompany) who wanted to play a different way. He's genuinely elite as a CDM, perhaps just one that means you're more likely to win 1-0, than 2-1It's always good to have an experienced warrior in midfield who makes the players around him better and doesn't shy away from any challenge, certainly in our squad. Even if he comes with certain limitations on the ball (otherwise he would've played for Real or Man. City)
£25m to make the move permanent? No-brainer.
Sure, but if his passing had been very good as well (not saying it's crap btw, but certainly conservative and limited), he would've been a regular starter for an elite team in Europe. But as I said, overall he has been a fantastic addition to our team.tbf, he was bought for big money by Bayern. We are the beneficiaries of a manager (Kompany) who wanted to play a different way. In the summer, yes.Surely we make this permanent.
Should be first order of business
True but his style could hold up for another 3 years or so.
