Player Antonín Kinský

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Evaluating a given player's passing ability based on success rate alone is as nonsensical in outfield playes as it is in keepers, as success rate flatters risk averse players at the expense of risk prone ones in both cases.

Kinsky is the type that tries to pick out a forward pass that would help the team break through the press, not someone who almost always passes the buck to some defender.

I'm sensing you don't like Thomas Frank much :franklol:
You're wrong, I like the man and respect what he achieved in the past. I'm just no big fan of his first few months at Spurs, think he's made a lot of mistakes, including with his comm.

But, as was the case with all our previous managers under ENIC(unts), he's been dealt a shite hand.

What is he meant to say.
And in fairness a decent striker we at least draw that game
"First and foremost, I apologise to the fans for our latest defeat and poor performance. We've let you down and I'm sorry, especially for those who made the trip up north. Some of our players made avoidable mistakes, others didn't work hard enough. I too am to blame for some of my choices prior to and during the game. We are going to work twice as hard going forward to remedy to that. I will keep speaking with Vinnie, Fabio and Johann to address the weaknesses in the squad, with the January window a big opportunity for us and one we need to be ready for."

he defo needs a run of solid game time. championship loan would be good for him.
If we are going to loan him out, we should be looking for an experienced back-up keeper to replace him in the meantime. The gap between him and Vicario is too big to ignore. We need another Frazer Forster type signing but hopefully someone a bit better than Forster. If only we had a back-up keeper of Aaron Ramsdale's quality.

Keepers whose teams are under constant pressure in games and who therefore are expected/forced to hoof it up most of the time will have crap success rates. Burnley's Dubravka looks terrible at 48 percent for example , no need to wonder why.

Keepers who often try to play their way out of trouble to potentially create advantageous situations for their teams higher up the pitch will also have relatively modest records. That's Kinsky for you.

Those who have it the easiest are the ones who are part of the teams that regularly play against much inferior opponents that are not interested one bit in pressing high, allowing those keepers to make the simplest of passes to their defenders to pad their stats.

Now every keeper ends up in each of the three broadly described situations above in different times, but obviously not to the same extent.

Maybe it's just me but I want a keeper who makes saves first and foremost. I have no problem with our keepers either rolling it out to a FB or kicking it long. I have palpitations when they start passing it backwards and forwards in front of our goal. I understand that's the modetn game and why we do it, doesn’t mean I have to like it!

i was asked how his stat compared with other stats, and i provided it. if you have a problem with goalkeeping passing stats go write a nice letter to OPTA or Sky instead of being a rude dull cunt creature

Exactly - you posted Kinsky stats to highlight that his distribution is overrated.

Yes - it's true the stats don't tell the full picture.
But - it's not like Kinsky is setting up chances with his " wonderful distribution ".

At best - anyway you look at it: his distribution is average at best.

It's definitely not just you - but it feels like it because there's a noisy minority who think one of our biggest problems is our Number 1 Goalkeeper who is genuinely elite at stopping shots.

It's good to remind yourself that a healthy proportion of football fans are also complete fucking idiots. :D

2nd goal was poor and he was more likely at fault than Danso for the poor communication that allowed the corner that resulted in the 1st goal.

But he’s also just 22, which is very young for a goalkeeper. Hes not going to get better sitting on the bench, so I hope we consider a loan to get him starter time. Has to be to a team that likes to use the keeper in build up though.

His distribution is very good, potentially elite with a larger sample size. Judging solely off stats like pass % for goalkeeper passing is ridiculous. If you can’t tell with your eyes, you don’t know the game well enough to judge on goalkeeper distribution.

The distribution is less of an issue if he opts for the simple option, but you surely can’t be happy with his lack of composure on balls into the box or his lack of ability to come and confidently collect a cross to relieve pressure on the team?

Call me a fucking idiot if you like, but I’d prefer a keeper to claim the ball when he decides to come for it rather than flap at it. Doesn’t breed confidence in the defence IMHO and the opposition know exactly how to put us under pressure as a result.
