LB? Not for me... He's super fast but he does have a tendency to have a loose touch. Even in yesterday's game there was a moment where he took too many touches when he should've played to Udogie and we were suddenly getting countered.

He's prob the best LCB in the world atm. Why would we move him to LB?

Fair point. Not sure he is the best LCB defensively. Offensively yes, and overall he's certainly up ther. Could potentially be even more of an offensive threat from LB. I guess the point is whether overall our team is stronger with him marauding up and down the left flank and a Romero - Danso/Vuskovic CB partnership. I think it's potentially a good option given our LB cover weakness.

It looked like a pro vs a Sunday league team. Amazing to do that in CL game. It's the best CL goal ever IMO. Appreciate the obvious objection re standard of oppo, so no need to respond on that basis!

The LB idea is interesting. I've no idea which position he prefers or is better at tbh, but agree that once we have Vuskovic and Dragusin we are stacked for CBs, and could do with another LB as well as Udogie, and Spence as cover.
That's a massive stretch.
It's probably not even our best goal, let alone THE best goal.
You could make an argument for the best goal scored by a CB.

not needed at all if we can now keep Destiny fit, who suddenly seems to be criminally underrated again. top top young left back

For a defender and someone his size, it's ridiculous that he was able to control the ball at the speed he was going and get past 5 players that easily and still have the composure to finish it and hit it in the bottom corner.

For me, putting him at LB is yet another square peg in a round hole solution.

Yes, he helps out massively in attack with his speed. But it is even more critical in defence since it allows us to play with a higher line. He's a safety net at CB that no one else can match in regards to his pace.

I'd rather see us move to a 3 at the back if we want to see Micky push forward more. That way we have two extra defenders that can stay behind and we can also move Udogie further up field where he can help out in attack.

He's a very good technical footballer. These up field runs are becoming part of his wheelhouse and each time he goes off on one, he does not lose control of the ball or take a heavy touch. Exemplified last night.
His passing is quick and sharp and his finishing is at a really good level.
Made a couple of mistakes last night but at 24 years old, he will become ever more consistent in brilliance as he goes on.

If there are contract talks happening, get them done as soon as possible. If there is something signed already, this morning would have been an excellent time to announce it.

I mean he plays LB for his country, not really a square peg when he can actually do a job there!

Romero/Danso combo is fine for certain matches, obviously he's better in the middle but he'll offer a legit outlet on the left hand side and stretch the pitch which is what we're in desperate need of.

Best goal I’ve ever seen a CB score and he’s become pretty priceless for us, which means the likes of Madrid will at some point come sniffing, so we need to keep matching his ambitions by buying quality players for him to play with, and someone else to score some goals.

Which says so much about out effing strikers and so-called attacking players

It's fantastic to see a great goal but beung yop scorer is a default position bevause of the ineptitude of others.

Get another goal on Saturday, and I will be one of the first who is up and cheering, trust me on that.

It says more about him seeing as he's the joint highest scoring CB in Europe'a top 5 leagues at the moment and the highest scoring CB in all comps.

I still cant get over the fact that van der Ven with the ball outpaced their no. 10 who was giving it full gas and never got any closer.
The pain on his face trying to keep up with someone dribbling reminded me of how i felt in my sunday league days...
