Match Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United. Saturday, Nov 8th, 12:30pm. English Premier League.

Agreed. Liverpool were better than them. Brighton played suicide football and deserved everything they got but still opened Utd up in the middle third but final pass was poor. Forest were better than them and they got away with one. Sunderland were poor and will struggle away from home as the season goes on.

I actually see this game as one we will win comfortably. I think our midfield will dominate them and it’s up to our front players to click. The only position I think Frank will be struggling with is left back. Spence will deal with Mbuemo better than Udogie would but Udogie gives us more going forward and gives us such a better balance and him and Odobert have that something together. For me Spence offers absolutely nothing going forward and doesn’t link with anyone.
I’d go with Udogie because I think we be on the front foot for a lot of this game.

'Win comfortably'

That's a ridiculous statement.

One of the wildest I have seen for some time.

Every chance we lose.

They are 100% playing better than us at the present time, and have so many options.

You might be proven right but minimal basis for that level of confidence

Massive game for us and a real litmus test of where we are under Frank. I know United have won a few games recently but with their new front three you would goals. They have improved, but they are still a mishmash of square pegs in round holes in midfield and at the back. Our home form has been poor, but this is a real chance to build on Tuesday's win and put United back in their place. It would also signal to the rest of the league we ain't going anywhere. Massive game and Frank needs to get the starting eleven right, the balance right and his substitutes right. More often this season, one or two of those have been wrong. I think he will get it right and we win 3-1.

Not a litmus test in the slightest. Nonsense.

Important game - yes, because we don't want another loss after last weekend.

It's important not to lose, because if there is a long-term failing of too many Spurs managers, it's the inability to avoid defeat. A draw would be fine in my opinion.

The relative lack of options for us makes proper assessment of Frank and any real litmus test nearly impossible, and grossly unfair, which is not the same as saying we must wait until such
unknown time if things were to deteriorate massively.

Every game is do-or-die for Frank in your clownshow mind.

Im nervous about this one. Almost wish it was at Old Trafford tbh. I don’t trust our home form at all right now and worry it’ll turn toxic if we go behind.

Nonsense... completely disagree... injuries are part and parcel of football and Frank still has plenty of options. Good managers deal with it and don't hide behind it as an excuse. You don't have to agree but for me this is a litmus test and it is not unfair to assess how Frank is measuring up.
1. It's United - we beat them 4 times last season
2. We are coming off the back off a convincing win albeit against lesser opposition
3. We need to bury the cowardly display last time out in the league
4. A loss with Woolwich on the horizon leaves us in a position that we might find ourselves in the bottom half come the end of the month...

A draw would not be fine.

real litmus test of where we are
This is the exact term I used to describe the game to my kid.

Are we going to be brave enough to at least try to put in another performance like Tuesday’s? If so then we can maybe hope we’re heading in the direction most fans hoped for. I wouldn’t even mind if we aren’t an all out fluent attacking force against them. But when we have the ball we must try to move it forward at a reasonable rate somehow. As others have noted intensity will be key, and or me is what we have been missing in the main.

The energy in the stadium will be dictated by the line up rightly or wrongly.. If our midfield 3 is Sarr/Palhinha/Bentancur and we start off like the away side again then it'll be flat. The crowd is always there if the team is willing to tap into it.

We can't treat this shit Man Utd team with respect. This little run they're on is a mirage.

God there are some stupid fucking posts on RedCafe. I'd like to find this guy and give him a goaty talking to.

Do people actually just blindly post with confidence opinions here without having watched either team?

Tottenham have been horrific this season. They are literally averaging 8.8 shots per game at home and massively over achieving on goals scored in comparison to xG (only Burnley are worse in both categories). It may have been a comfortable one tonight but it's still a match and a huge bonus to us with it being a 12.30pm KO on Saturday. Would anyone actually take any of their players ahead of ours? We're the much better side, will be the fresher side, better prepared side and Spurs are there for the taking if we apply ourselves.

For the record, I'm not saying we're entitled or should expect to win this but we should be a load more confident than the average supporter seems to be!"

Dumb manc pigfucker.

We are no better, and have been very poor at home.

They are favourites, other than any psychological barrier from last season. Mostly because they pretty much have a full squad and an element of momentum
We are very much staccato at present.

We will need to score 2 or 3 to win. No doubt in my mind, and that's a big challenge.

Why are they favourites?

Not above us in the league, haven't beaten us in three years. Its a 50/50 imo. If we get our shit together after a good home performance we'd be favourites.

If roles were reversed you'd still be saying they're favourites...we haven't beaten them in 8 attempts, they've got our number etc etc

What team has been above us that we have lost to this season, at the time of playing?

They are favourites in my opinion, and clearly.

The surprise is if we win.

Clearly lol.

You told me on Saturday there was NO CHANCE Forrest were getting anything against them. I told you that was ridiculous to give them no chance.

How'd that turn out.

Stop being so negative. Yes they're improved and will probably be a close enough game but branding them clear favourites is OTT.

I mean Forrest should of beaten them so they're not playing way better than us

Forest surprised me. I admitted tbat.

Negativity is what you call it. I say honest assessment based on facts.

I got Saturday wrong but would make that same prediction.

Saturday, a draw is good. I think we will do well to get that

Tuesday's result may have helped, but once again we are looking for a spark or a really strong team performance. Hmmmmmm....

To be fair, I do think they have a far superior attack so I can see why you're wary of them.

But it's their midfield and defense which I think they're weak in and we're definitely stronger in that area.

So if they're moving the ball well in transition they could really hurt us.

But if we overpower them in midfield I think we can minimise that threat and then it's how we do in attack.

I don't think we'll win comfortably at all. In fact I'm predicting 1-1

2-2 for me...
