There is one statistic that consistently correlates with success in football and it is the amount of money you have. We have money but are expected to be happy with being a plucky mid table outfit whilst spending less than half of our turnover on wages.
Meanwhile we are watching clubs like Villa push their spending (perhaps too far) in the pursuit of success on the pitch.
We don't expect success because we are Tottenham, we expect it because the resources are there but we are being neglected and mismanaged.
