Fair assessment. Got into goal scoring positions in the box a couple of times.
Rangers made a fist of it in the second half but are really not very good.

So far from his career with us and Rangers

Good

- excellent creativity, can see a pass and appears a lot smarter than other Rangers players, they don’t always seem to be on his wavelength. A player who is better with better players around him.

- technically very good and can turn on a 6 pence.

Bad

- Needs to get physically more powerful, should come with time but needs to happen. It’s critical.

- tries to hard sometimes to make things come off.

Last few games for Rangers I’ve noticed a difference in his sharpness and looks stronger. The rangers fans are starting to come around to him.

Loans like this are great. Difficult start in a mess, things get better, player learns and grows. He is still only 18 and it’s his first loan, if he does one more year not the end of the world, needs to come back when he is ready to fight for a starting spot.

If everything were going well there off the bat he'd likely get less minutes also, with them underperforming you start to look at shaking things up and throwing in e.g the 18 yo wonderkid you've got on loan, if they were top capitalising on Celtic's poor start their first-choice LW would likely be getting all his mins as you don't tinker a winning team.

It shouldn't be a suprise given his age, but I think the biggest benefit i've seen from his time on loan is how much he's bulked up.

I don't think he was necessarily small for his age but he's definitely had a growth spurt, and he'll definitely need that physicality if he's to become a regular starter for us, given the direction the Premier League is currently heading.

For some reason I thought he was on the short side but when other Rangers players were congratulating him for the goal he was roughly the same height as most of them.

Definitely agree on him bulking up - he seems to be handling the physicality of the league a lot better than he did initally.

The other big improvement I've noticed compared to his early highlights at Rangers is he seems to be taking much more initiative and believing in himself on the ball. Maybe it was down to Martin's rigid instructions, but he looked quite timid and deferential initially - often prefering the simple, safe option. In those Dundee highlights he's taking charge and asserting himself far more. And as others have said, he's clearly far more suited to playing through the middle - that's where he'll shine (hopefully) as Maddison's long term replacement and back-up/rotation for Xavi.

He's starting to look like the player we saw absolutely bossing it for the U-18s again. Really encouraging signs.

I’ve got loads of hun season ticket mates and 6 weeks ago they wanted Mikey gone but they’ve completely turned now. The say he’s a completely different player now in terms of how much he contributes, his confidence, they say he looks quicker, sharper and stronger now than he did a wee while ago.

The new manager has gave him a new lease of life and that goal will help him big time.
