Well we've played 11 matches and have 18 points, so we're getting 1.636 points per match. If we keep the same trajectory throughout the remaining 27 matches we'll gain another (approximate) 44 points, which means a total at season's end of 62 points

Last season Brighton were 8th with 61 points.

Of course we could improve when injured players return to the team, or if new players are signed in January, or we could improve simply because Frank's training etc starts to work better, but then again we could get thumped by the goons, lose more confidence and slide even further down the league. than 8th. I think if we are in the bottom half things might get a tad uncomfortable for Frank but we' would have taken 8th last season the way things were going.

It's 3 places below 5th but 9 places above 17th.

How are you claiming to be a fan when you come out with this utter rubbish? You just repeat the crap that rival fans throw at us and completely ignore the club's achievments. And then have the audacity to shout down fans who are proud of what the club achieved

If a club can go from 5th to 17th in one season, there's absolutely no reason why they can't go back to 5th from 17th in one season. And if that doesnt happen, and there''s no trophy won, questions have to be asked.

When god gave out brains, you thought he said trains and you missed yours.

Nice analysis and i respect your opinion. I just have a different opinion and believe that if we're sacking a manager who got us 5th one season and won a trophy the next season, its completely fair to expect their replacement to achieve either of those things as a minimum. Otherwise, why make the change?

For some reason, suggesting this seems to make some 'fans' on here to go hysterical, but it seems pretty logical to me.

There's a bunch of deranged contortionists on here who spend all their time mangling reality to try and make it fit their warped anti-Frank agenda.

Trying their hardest to get others to turn against him.

It's very fucked up if you think about it.
I was not Keen on his appointment at first, however talk of sacking him is a joke, give him a decent amount of time before making judgements, had we been sat in 17th or below for most of the season then yeah maybe we need to be having them discussions but for a manager whose teams are renowned for slow starts, taking into account all the injuries we have and how piss poor some of our players are, I think he has done alright !

I just want to see him be a bit braver in some of the home games, if he can get our home record sorted then it can be a good season!

I think it's some people (I don't know how many) on social media, or even this forum, I don't think it's disinformation at all. It's most likely a minority though.
An absolutely enormous minority - social media is the death of society man, every prick with a phone now has a platform to spout bollocks and other weak minded morons lap it up.

I was told by Reddit users last sseason that it was full on AngeMania. I imagine that alot of those are fans from the US and A who never go to games and didnt have to sit through a point a game for a whole season. And I imagine that alot of those are less than thrilled with a new, and sane, manager

I think I recall the reason for Posetcoglou's sacking was the league position of 17th being unacceptable in the club statement on the matter. So the criteron for the sacking is there. Being 5th the previous season or winning the trophy last season, didn't sweeten the league position.

But I assume that was down to Levy, he's gone. I wanted Postecoglou sacked in January. I'd be shocked if we end up 6th with no trophy and Frank is sacked for it because it's worse than Postecoglou's 5th.

erm....how so?

oh dear

PPG over Ange's last 14 months in charge: ONE PER GAME. That's 14 months of 17th place, one above relegation.

And you reckon it's easy to turn that ingrained form around to get 5th?

FFS
He, like a few others on here, is an Ange Extremist.

There's no getting through to him.

He'd have that 17th place 1 PPG back in a heartbeat.

This is what you're dealing with...

Won our most significant trophy for 40 years and gave proper fans the best night they've had for generations.

At least every game was entertaining. I'd have Ange back over this dross any day.
................................................................ 👆

This was even after his record breaking Forest disasterclass, mind.

There is no reasoning with it.

He also needs to have the appropriate personnel at his disposal to provide that attacking football, which I don’t believe he has thanks to a combination of injuries and poor recruitment.

The balance I'm talking about is for example are things like:

-Playing Odobert instead of Richy on the left which gives you a legit outlet and a threat.

-Not continually deploying 2 DMF's in matches where we will need to be on the front foot (although it looks like he's dropped the Pa/Ben combo based on the last match)

-Subbing off Xavi when you need a creator on the pitch

etc...

Please don't tell me about personnel when he has the options there - he will get sympathy from the fanbase when he gives the team a platform to work with because the fans will see what he's trying to do because that gives you hope for when our players get back he will start profiling them properly and setting the team up adequately.

Yeah but it' takes time before finding that middle ground.

We've been so devoid of defensive accountability that's it's not surprising it's gone from one extreme to the other.

Get them defending well first and then integrating the more attacking qualities when we've established that solid foundation.

I think we're in the midst of this right now.

Come the new year if its still the same I'd be more understanding of the frustration but for now its just being patient. There are some signs its getting better, here and there anyway.

How much time does it take to work out that if we have no width on the left hand side if you have 2 players who aren't comfortable with the ball to hold the width?

The whole fanbase can see it so I don't understand why he can't? Please make it make sense.

Look I want this manager to work and I'll stick by him but at the moment it's absolutely fair that questions should be asked of him and it's understandable that the fanbase are a bit sick of what they're watching.

A lot of it is being fed by some idiot spurs youtubers and grifty accounts on X who got a lot of traction -- views, likes, retweets, £££ -- out of the circus drama that came with the last manager.

Their channels/accounts did very well out of it.

The sort of drama and weekly turmoil they fed off isn't there anymore, so they are confecting it and putting it on to whip up engagement.

Frank isn't as memeable, there's no sensation or drama around anything he says or does to feed off of, he just gets on with the job very professionally and communicates brilliantly.

So they're acting like tabloid newspapers and manufacturing drama to sell their channels/accounts content.

MSM then picks up on and starts to feed off of it.

It's fucked up.
