Think the VDV and Spence thing is more they(and probably all our players)don’t fear/respect him more than issues behind the scenes. Which is still a big problem. They definitely wouldn’t have done that to Conte, Mourinho even Ange. Maybe he just doesn’t have that edge about him

Dragusin and Davies were our CBs in that game.

Without the 4 attacking players you mentioned, I could understand if we couldn't score. But we shouldn't let in 4 goals against the scum with our first choice and supposedly one of the best CB pairing playing for us last night.

Unreal that we've been so long without any of Solanke, Maddison or Kulusevski- that was most of Ange's attack in his season 1- and they were fit pretty much the whole time iirc...

A few more games like today and all the hard work keeping a tight goal differential will be all for naught.

I still think we are better under Frank, but not enough at present for me to want to keep it going. He still has time to turn it around though- just not sure if he will.
What gives you any indication we'll be better? We conceded less goals by way of outrageous luck. Nothing more.

We're absolutely dreadful in every area of the pitch, like no redeeming qualities what so ever. Yet, you still think it's going to change? I can't remember another manager who's been afforded such leeway.

Very obvious he's a very poor for here. Might be a great coach, but it's not going to be here. Completely out of his depth.

That would be an insult, had this brick wall not been correct in seeing this coming and been saying it for fucking weeks.

Oh I'm thinking about what will happen if he doesn't get sacked. The slide is going to be outrageous. It's clearly go nowhere, not working football. Players look like they've given up, no surprises with what they're being asked of. We have genuinely no plan, and with the fans getting uneasy, you're an idiot of you think the club won't do something.

Get a caretaker in til the end of the year, but I assure you, this won't get any better, and he'll be sacked because it's untenable. You go on like I choose the appointments, Jesus wept.

Nuno crap. Frank crap. Same difference.

Like talking to a brick wall.

I'm seriously worried we will go 1-1-3 the next 5 games. Our record will then look atrocious, and we'll be heading into a sequence of games against wounded and desperate Liverpool. The season is really on thin ice right now if we aren't to slip into lower midtable.

Having slept on it I still want him sacked immediately

Our motto is to dare is to do, we can’t have a coward in charge

Throw money at Glasner or Iraola and let them have the season to work out what they need in the long run

This man has no right standing in our dugout

Oh yes if he had just barked out instructions, these players would have magically turned into prime Barca.

Plenty of legitimate reasons to criticize Frank and we act like this shit is the difference. For example, he should have known this XI would perform like this. We should roll and die with Bergvall and Sarr, who are actually part of the future and not freaking Bentancur.

Franks options at forward are laughable.
Doesn't matter who have up top with his "tactics". Forwards have to actually get the ball to do anything with it. He willingly plays Palinha every game which completely stifles any prospect of attacking intent.

He picks the team, he sets them up. And he's getting it wrong every week. 1/3 of the season in and he doesn't know his best 11. Wild.

I've been saying for months now that this would happen. Completely inevitable. Completely unsustainable to be giving up a big number of changes and scoring lots of goals with not many chances. We couldn't keep riding our luck.

People using the "we're 5th in the league and you're moaning, catch a grip" crowd have gone quiet. We're in for a big slide and every fixture now looks tough. Check out the schedule for February/March if you're brave enough.

Club need to act of we want to save the season.

There's a few times it's looked like coming together- Everton and Copenhagen especially, for example. Obviously those are games easy to deceive yourself with. RKM I think has been a hit with us so far- just a shame that he arrived unfit and now has a fractured fucking jaw thanks to Maguire- you really can't make this shit up. We are seriously beat up and injured in attack right now but I'm much more concerned about the situation in CM- where he has plenty of options but can't figure out how to do something useful and positive with them.

In another thread I already called for Thomas out (if we can find someone better), so I don't think we really have too different of an opinion.

Like I said, Thomas has had a few nice moments with us so far, but he's strangely not tried to repeat them (constant dropping of Sarr, Bergvall, Gray, etc). At this point I worry that those were simply lucky exceptions for him, and that his normal baseline is a lower level. I guess I'm just not as harsh about it as you.

When we are 6 weeks away from the January window we have more questions than answers where Frank is concerned.
So with this is mind is he going to get backed in January or will it be another make-do-and-mend window until the board are convinced one way or another?
If it's the latter then unless Frank concedes that his approach is self-destructive we are in for a very poor season of dawa football.

Palhinha has been good for us- but he is a player that really demands to be played as a deep CDM in a 4-3-3. In any sort of an 8-esque role he looks awkward to me. Thomas' bigger flaw so far though has been his stubborn commitment to Bentancur, even in the face of better options like Sarr or Bergvall.

Finished 17th last season without Romero, VDV, Udogie, Richarlison, Vicario, Odobert fit to play.

Finished 17th last season without Xavi, Muani, Kudus, Palhinha.

Frank has no excuse for that performance, it was abysmal. There were no 18 year olds playing out of position. No makeshift back 4. He had 4 strikers fit to play, and left his only playmaker on the bench.
Exactly! And we still won a European trophy last season!

I genuinely thought the plus side of getting Frank was for games like yesterday , make us very hard to beat and nick a goal or 2 , it could / should have been 7-1 and he had his full strength defence and defensive midfielders available . I can see a relegation battle with this manager , I’m not seeing anything that tells me he can win the fans over either .

Palinha is good at tackling, but everything else is average to poor. We can't move the ball quickly with him, can't carry the ball with him, struggle to move it up the pitch at all when he's playing (not against vastly inferior opponents once or twice).

Because he's so average to bad on the ball, opposition teams find it so easy to trigger a press against him and when they do, it's backwards. Because he's so bad technically, his defence work is redundant, he keeps the ball in our half most of the time. Absolutely easy to see why Bayern didn't fancy him.

With our full defence playing, and not playing with 1 man holding the halfway line for kamikaze defending, we automatically improve defensively. We don't need the human hand break.

The way you're supposed to use him is let him sit back and have two progressive CMs either side of him that do all the attacking- how Portugal does. We're totally not doing that- at all. It's a bit of a worst of both worlds thing that Frank has got going on right now.

Then you sacrifice playing with a 10, because the gaps in-between a 10 and 8 are too far. I can honestly see playing him. In maybe 5/6 games a year, when we need to set up like that, but he should be nowhere near the first name on the team sheet and should be a bit part, specialist player for any other manager worth their salt.

Idk Vitinha is a tiny man yet looks just fine doing 8 style things. Veratti another one. I think Simons could do a job there for us too with Palh at his back.
