Match PSG v Tottenham Hotspur Wednesday 8pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Not a fucking hope. If it was city maybe, but this lot are REALLY fucking good. Any little spursy upsurge will be countered by their being stupidly good at football.

And yeah I know we did alright in pre season when they hadn’t had one.. they’re in gear now .
Always comes when you least expect it.

And, of course, would mean we lose to Fulham at the weekend.

This will be nothing like the Super Cup game. They had 2 training sessions before they played us and for 75 mins it showed... they are now in full flow and the score will largely depend on when the first goal is scored. If they get it early, the doubts will creep in and this will be a car crash. If we can keep them at bay for 30 mins we might get away with a three or four nil. It's a sign of the times that I would take that right now so we can avoid a real drubbing. Sad times.
You don't think 3 or 4 nil is a drubbing?

You are an absolute stalwart Mrs P.

I just hope you are rewarded for your support, notwithstanding the cost.

Fans like you deserve better than what is beung dished-up, regardless of the need to recognise a big rebuilding job is obviously in train.
Peeing down too, still hotel seems nice enough, will spend the day getting my bearings and doing the sights tomorrow.

It's so hard to be a Tottenham fan sometimes. Playing the current CL champions in a late November, mid week, fixture should have us all buzzing. All I feel is pain from yesterday and a sense of resignation about possible humiliation in this match. Fuck!

Not looking forward to this one either. After playing our hardest PL opponents we have our hardest CL opponents. More important to win Saturday but resting players for this will be a disaster. Need to make sure our goal difference does not take a hit & so go defensive. Oh no that does not work. Go Gung-Ho Ange style, oh that will not work either.
Do not think I could pick a team from those available that will put up a good display but it must be either a back 3 or 2 defensive pivots & not both. Porro must return & possibly Xavi.

Monty Python Reaction GIF

I can't wait for all the hyperventilating reactions if we lose away to the best club in Europe...

I'm not expecting a result, but I do want to see some tactical changes and more of an effort to play our game rather than react to what PSG does.

In fairness; whilst we were all over the moon to qualify for the Champions League despite our
“lowly “ League position; nobody was expecting us to win it . Rather it was all about the extra income ( direct and indirect) , the prestige and the possibility of attracting/ retaining a higher class of players .

We’ll just have to suck it up and hope that those going over will enjoy a few days in a beautiful city that’s only a few hours away by train . ( A lot longer by car it must be said ) .

I see it like the arguments for letting Italy into the Rugby 5 -Nations ;by playing against higher quality opposition the team will eventually and over many years actually improve
( despite the inevitable drubbings and mis-matches along the way ) .

We’re not quite ready to threaten PSG in Paris ; but as Del Boy used to say … “ We’ll get there Rodney , we’ll get there “ …..
Remember Pep in his early days with City saying every year in the Comp made them stronger and more resilient , as a club and a group also.

Look at the heartache they had to endure along the way to finally winning it.

We should have been building on our Europa win, but we seem to be back on the Merry go round again.

The difference with us in changing managers so often ,is that the players we need now to attract just see us as a too risky and unpredictable option.
Even though their maybe Champs League football available with us ,with more teams involved each year ,there is so many other better options elsewhere at this given time.

100 % agree ; and with the new format / extra teams ( which I think is a very positive improvement) ; there were always going to be the odd one-sided fixture .

We’re all on a learning curve ( and that includes us and Pafos and Kairat and even PSG ) ; the trick is to be in it as often as possible and keep learning lessons about how to succeed in it .
