Tbh when we hired poch I was really excited with that appointment. I based that on how Southampton tore us apart under him and we couldnt get near them until bale scored a world. Since poch left us none of the managers have deep down hit the spot when we hired them. The only ones I would have is poch back Tuchel, de zerbi or iraola.
So was I. And I would be if we appointed him again.

You could see that Poch was ready to step up to a Big club.
A manager the players would enjoy playing for and coaching the kind of football the fans would enjoy watching .
A manager the players would respect for what he's achieved as a player.
Argentina International pedigree

None of the above can be said of Thomas Frank

I was in spain when poch was announced as our new boss. I was delighted. Ironically that day had breakfast by the beach and the waiter was argentinian.

This was the glaring difference between Frank and Iraola for me. It’s also why Bayern hired Kompany and those who couldn’t see beyond his Burnley results ridiculed it.

Moyes, Allardyce, Nuno, Dyche. How many times must this lesson be taught?

He did what was needed at the time... Locked in! What else could he have done with that injury riddled squad?

Those optimistic among us would have pointed to him potentially learning lessons, growing different ways of playing for different games and adapting when needed...

Think it's mental how you use it as a stick to beat him with. As if you would have rather be went gung-ho and lost just you would have been vindicated.

The question is though, was Ange's pragmatic sides (injury ridden) more structured and solid than those we're seeing from Frank? I remember them certainly providing more threat than what we're seeing currently...
No the point is this guy got 2 fucking seasons. When after the first 10 all we showed was relegation form. So he gets 2 years of stinking the place out lucked out on a Europa (fucking fantastic that he did by the way) put out numerous stinking performances, had more than 1 altercation with fans but yet those same people that wanted him to stay after all that then want a man sacked after 12 league games. Baring in mind how horrible we was for a season and a half under him yet Frank isn't even afforded a third of a league campaign. It's fucking ridiculous.

And everyone is venting on their own thing on this forum right now after a terrible performance and result and mine right now is the hypocrisy of calling for this man's head when the previous manager dragged this club's morale down to the gutter with shit performances one after another. If we're dragged in to a relegation battle then fair enough it could be up for debate but up until then it's nothing we haven't already endured over the last several seasons. Give the bloke a season atleast.

That one line ...."One of Europe's richest clubs producing these performances is lamentable"

Absolutely sums up this football club

CJJ CJJ , your thoughts?

It's boring AF. The past is the past. Let's move on eh?

The best part of this post is the fact that not only have you posted (over a dozen times!) in the Postecoglou thread since I last did way back in September...

But so have half the people "agreeing" with you that we should "move on" :D

The first step to healing is acknowledging you have a problem. I'm here to help when you're ready :angehug:

What signs have you seen that we will get better.

You can’t “give the gaffer time” your way out of this… he has to show that he deserves it.

Quite simply untrue.

We are far away from "of the Europe's richest clubs".

Any 'wealth' is purely virtual, with no tangible quality to it whatsoever. This is, and always has been, the most moronic and incorrect assumption or description that could be attributed to the club, because it is a flagrant dismissal of what we've managed to achieve in spite of "riches"

Just wondering everton are down to 10 men tonight and havent had a shot on goal 2nd half. Is their XG still better than us yesterday?

0.01x shy of double our combined XG for Chelsea and Woolwich games

There is actually no hypocrisy.

The player morale never dropped under the previous manager. He never lost the dressing room. At the end, the players and club were on a high not experienced in 40 years. That's what Frank inherited in the playing group.

This was because the players knew they were in an injury crisis of mostly senior players in the latter parts of the first and in the second season.

The players also accepted the assignment to win the Europa, really the only pathway to winning anything and the champions league.

We ewere were creating numerous chances ( and giving chances away too). Under Frank we're creating literally nothing and still getting pumped.

What a load of bull.

Word-salad with fancy terms but zero substance. What the fuck does "style of play does not translate to elite level" mean? Absolutely nothing at all.

There are many ways to skin a cat. Unless you are (and I am not suggesting you actually are) absolute dumbfuck-of-a-simpleton who thinks that only way to be successful is to play is Pep's tiki-taka football and always having 65+ % of possession.

If anything then bit of an underdog mentality is exactly what we need. We are doing well but we will never beat teams such as ManU, Shitty and Chelsea in the spending game. In trying to out-Pep Pep himself. It is impossible unless you have billions to sportwash. We need to be cleaver.

I am not saying that Frank has the key to unlocking that. Nor am I denying that yersterday he messed up. But this tweet and pre-digested thought is braindead as hell.
