All bias aside, you don't see that as a possible issue???. Really?

Very few successful, top end managers achieved their success of the back of no previous playing career. Especially in the modern game.

The only possible name that comes to mind is Mourinho but even he had playing career of sorts.

Wether you agree or not with the sentiment, if top players don't have serious professional respect for the man who's telling how to play, it doesn't bode well for the long term
John, them players don't respect anyone but themselves. They wouldn't respect Pep, Carlo, Klopp, Enrique...anybody. Why? Cause they're major dickheads.

Arigo Saachi never has a football career neither did Nagelsmann, not sure Brendan Rodgers did either.

Wut!!!

Well if that transpires....Frank arriving at work Monday morning

Love this!
Is the guy in the black golf shirt and baseball cap Lee Trevino?
I'm guessing the bloke that ends up in the drink is a disruptive fan?
Anymore info?

Have I made the mistake again of discussing a Tottenham Hotspur manager on a Tottenham Hotspur Forum, in the manager thread?!

Need to stop doing that, don’t I.

You silly cunt. 😂
It wasn't the fact that you did
It was the fact that you talked out of your arse, about things you have no comprehension of.

If anyone made a twat of themselves it was you. I just enjoyed pointing it out.

I think we'll finish around 8 - 10th.

But no Spurs fan should ever consider that an excellent season.....Not now, not in the past, not ever.

The 9th richest club on the planet, paying the highest prices in Europe....and fans consider finishing 8th in their own domestic league as "excellent",.....I mean, come on....No wonder other fans laugh at us and consider us small time
We may have the 9th highest turnover but we have massive debt. We also have stingy owners. There are at least 6 richer clubs than us in the PL. We should be cutting ticket prices to reflect this.

For what it’s worth, I believe Frank to be many many many levels above me when it comes to football management. Not even in the same universe. But I wouldn’t put myself up against him for comparison, I’d put other top league managers up instead. So any criticism I have of him isn’t from a place of “I’d do better”, but from a place of “another manager could do better”.

As it is, I’m not expecting him to make a silk purse out of a sows ear. We have a squad full of pussies, who won’t step up and even get basics right. But they are good enough to be playing better than they are. And that is on Frank.

Remember, the last guy in the chair won a European trophy, with a rarely fit back five and no +£100m on Kudus, Simons, Palhinha, RKM. And we hounded him the fuck out the door and pour scorn on him at every opportunity. He made a lot of the shite he had to work with. Frank presently isn’t. I’m sure there are a number of managers who would do better. To be clear, I wouldn’t.
Had he been that articulate I'd have agreed with him, but he wasn't.
I didn't think Frank was the best choice either, but no matter who he's replaced with , they still have the same pool of players, and will be stuck with the same injuries, misfiring forwards and no effective or creativity based midfield.

We've played 4 (FOUR) through passes all season, at the same time we've managed to create the 2nd least amount of chances in the league, worse than Wolves, West Ham and Leeds.

That's not a player issue and I'm getting tired of people saying this crap, you're generally insulting your own intelligence to pin the majority of the blame on our players - 2 things can be true and I think a lot of our players are flawed but I expect a coach to set them up to get the best out of them, so far Frank hasn't done that and if he has it's not been anywhere near enough.

The vast majority of us really want this manager to succeed at this football club but he's not really giving us much to cling onto.

So it's not a player issue?

Interesting.

If it isn't the players running around on the pitch who can't do those things, then who is it, exactly, who are failing to see the passes, or failing to get into goalscoring positions, or kick the ball into the goal?

Ball Boys, stewards, press photographers - they are close to the pitch?

It ain't me whose intelligence is faulty.

It's not solely a player issue no.

And you're just being completely disingenuous if you're actually adamant that our players are incapable of playing a through pass or running into space, those stats are damming.

Unless you think we genuinely have a worse attack than Leeds, Wolves and West Ham on paper...if you do then it's probably not even worth carrying on with this conversation.

On a serious note, I just had a look at his wiki page. Apparently, he's not a former professional footballer. Before moving into football coaching and management he worked in a kindergarten and was then a PE teacher.
I don't really know what to make of that.
I could see why he may struggle to earn the respect of big name players and manage big ego's though

So basically he has the same background as Louis van Gaal (PE Teacher).

What's your point?

Our squad is top six in skillset, but relegation fodder in attitude. They are better than what they are showing. And due to that, the buck stops where it always does, with the manager.

I don’t think he’s sending them out to misplace passes, not track oppo players, to leave acres of space through the middle. But he’s also not showing signs of clamping down on that bullshit either.

He sorts it out and the new year could see us in a rather decent position. On the flip side, if he doesn’t, it’ll make last season look like a nineties rave.

Compared to last seasons 17th and 22 loses, it would be phenomenal.

So I don't get what the issue is, personally.

Just a matter of perspective, I guess.

Doesn't matter where we finished last season. A club with our resources and fanbase should not be satisfied with finishing 8th, let alone consider it, and I quote "an excellent season"
No other Big 6 club would.
This is the kind of mentality this football club needs to get the fuck out.
Conte was right.

Top six?
All players fit and available at their peak form then yes.
Sadly not a position we seem to be in at the moment

Richie pretty much sums our players up, he can score Burnley and gooner goals or look like a drunk navvy after an all night session
