Keepers are designated targets at set-pieces these days, with certain players assigned the role of sneakily impeding or grabbing them in the ensuing chaos. This was clearly evident during the incident when BJ got booked after a tussle with de Ligt at a corner. Once play resumed, de Ligt got past BJ and made a beeline toward Vic, with the sole intention of getting at him. Luckily nothing came of it that time, and in fairness to BJ, he did his best, but should never have been assigned to mark him in the first place. The current trend for set-pieces, along with all the often unpunished bullshit that goes on in the box, means we need to protect our keepers more, with a bit of muscle and guile. The scum are especially lapping up the weakness of referees in order to "win" soft free kicks, and during corners.
