Palace were going nowhere before Glasner came in and they had a lot of the same players. He's done exceptionally well and it's not all down to one player

I think one of Silva or Glasner is possible, if a decision to move Frank is made quickly, as in the next fortnight.

Both Glasner and Silva have been openly critical of their respective clubs and investment. It's an opportunity for us but of course with no guarantees.

Anc yet here is the really weird bit.

I think Frank would do a good job for both Palace and Fulham, because once again, and as so often happens, you can take on a level that is too great.

All the signs suggest Frank has overstretched and that we overestimated.

All the same they play three at the back. Mainly counter and have a big man they go direct to quite often with runners either side. maybe he’d do something different here with different kind of players but after Frank probably not the most sensible thing to try it again

I respect your opinion, but look at any team sport. Young teams in a rebuild don't immediately come together, especially with a new coach and system. There's usually a turning point and things gell and the improve is rapid. In Spurs case I think that will coincide with Simons taking a step forward and Muani becoming the focal point up front. Kulu and Maddison being out has left a leadership void and getting Kulu back, even if he doesn't play much at first, will be important. The alternative is just throwing up your hands, saying everything is wrong, and starting over yet again. My own opinion is a big revenue team should never have gone into a complete rebuild with youth to the exclusion of veteran players. Levy thought Ange's magic system meant you didn't need veterans and you didn't need a focal point on the attack. He was wrong and this is the outcome. The upside is, these are talented players and they will click as a unit at some point. Just a question of when.
I also respect your opinion mate, but I don't agree these are quality players....they are 3rd rate at best...you get what you pay for, and we never buy ready made quality..

And this could be a key point, although I think the players might be more inclined to keep their behaviour in check

Don't think we will have to wait too long to find out.

Thank god... we can't drop any lower this weekend but Newcastle will be above us come Tuesday night and next weekend when Brentford beat us I can see both Everton and Fulham jumping above us.

There’s one thing though I’m not quite in letting Frank go just yet he’s no had Solanke, Maddison or Kulu to call on things may be different if he had but if it comes to pass he goes hopefully for everyone’s benefit it’s done the fat fuck way from Forrest quick no messing not the dragged out mess we had we Ange, if he’s going then do it.

I mean its the same names we were linked with before we opted to go for Frank right? Iraola, Silva, Glasner and then the ambitious hope of getting Xavi.

In hindsight all are comfortably better options than Frank was at the time and I remember saying this repeatedly last summer. I think we were so traumatized by the injury situation under Ange that we talked ourselves out of going for the perfect fit which was Iraola. We scared ourselves into thinking that his style of football would just cause the same number of injuries Ange did.

Glasner is similar to Frank but atleast he comes with European experience and has won a big cup final with Palace. He also impressed me in how we managed to keep big names like Guehi, Eze and Wharton happy to play under him during massive transfer sagas. He clearly has more aura than Frank does who's just a total rabbit in the headlights and clearly feels inferior to some of our players.

Silva wouldn't have a better CV than Frank but he brings that passion on the sideline that our fans have missed since conte. One of Ange's biggest issues was he stood like a statue with the arms folded all game. Frank is nearly more annoying because he spends half the game looking at a computer screen or writing notes. Just seems to be such a lack of passion and energy. However, I'm not convinced that Silva is actually a better coach than Frank so would be a complete gamble to go for him.

Xavi and Inzaghi would be exciting but imagine they are totally off limits for us in this current mess. Not sure who else there is? So in summary I'd happily see us sack Frank now and punt on Iraola or Glasner. It'll be an expensive thing to do mid season and it'll be interesting to see if the club admit to making a very expensive mistake last summer by hiring the wrong man.

All three of those were cunted off by the majority on here last season.

Maddison - luxury fair weather player who goes missing when going gets tough
Solanke - loads of running, no end product
Kulu - no pace, heads down blind alleys, no end product

Even Son was hammered last season for having one good game against the Swedish farmers.

Iriola would be the top choice. They play some really good football even though the results are up and down at the moment. If he turned us down I’d look at Hurzeler, Xavi, there’s probably more that I don’t know from outside the league. if we went for an interim there’d obviously be more available in the summer.

I Was previously for Iriola when ange went. But again managing a bigger club would it suit? Frank while early in his tenure is struggling.
i would have like gasperini at the time but dont know if he fancied england. Doing a great job at roma now

think it would. Bournemouth get after teams. Off the ball they are very good. They play some good combinations, get men forward. Bournemouth try to play like a top team, Brentford never did. They are always a good watch. Brentford under Frank you would turn over. Never really understood the appointment in the first place tbh.

It's frustrating. I watched Brighton and Nottingham Forest today and I kept seeing these Brighton players who seem to come out of nowhere and just plug into their system and right away show what they are good at. Maybe playing on a big London team takes away some of the spontaneity and enthusiasm players on lesser squads feel. There's a difference in young players trying to get somewhere and young players who are already there on the big team. And that makes the manager's job all the more difficult.

Not bothered about Glasner. Could well be another like Ange and Frank that struggles with the expectations of a larger club. The club trying to catch the Poch lightning in a jar again?

It's the same for other teams. Academy players transit seamlessly into the first team when their stars were sold. Managers had immediate effect in just the first 2 games. Only us that we need a bedding-in period of 3-6 months, be it our players or managers. As if we played some kind of highly complex game different to others.
