Give it a few months. What we're seeing at the moment is nowhere near the best or worst of anything.

The manner of the defeats to Bournemouth, Chelsea and Woolwich, and the draw with Wolves, are up there with some of the worst I've ever seen.

I watched the Christian Gross team.

Thomas Frank is not good enough.

After an initial improvement the drop off has been huge.

I accept that this group of players have some right cunts right in the front and centre but Frank, so far, is not proving to be a big enough character to take them on and bomb them out.

Poch had to deal with similar players.

ENIC need to act fast in my opinion.

If this drags on until the transfer window then that alone will kill our chances of signing anyone decent.

But Ange was a useless fucking prick who won a competition almost any of our prior coaches would have won if
1) They weren't sacked for the corresponding league form
2) Didn't have to contend with champions league knock downs
3 Had the incentive of CL football for winning it.

He wasn't special.
The football was fucking woeful.
The Europa League is just about the easiest thing to win other than the Conference league given points 1-3 above.

He also won the Europa with a brand of football all the Angebois are bemoaning now anyway.

There was absolutely no attacking football at all in the Europa league in the group or knockout phases. It worked but it was hideous to watch.

Finally (but acknowledging an Antipodean bias) maybe Ange wasn't so bad after all - at least the players knew what the game plan was and, at least on the surface, they liked him as a gaffer even if (with justification) they wondered about the wisdom of his game plan.......

Very much agree. Frank might not be perfect and he needs to find a way to get the players fired up BEFORE we go behind.

But I don't think any manager alone will be able to solve our issues on the pitch. Grey, Tel, Xavi, I think need to grow a lot to be PL quality. Most of the rest of our offensive players are mere mediocre.
The truth is that we did not replace Kane, Son and Eriksen (in his prime). And therefore we cannot expect to be competing for 6th and above. That is a realisation fans need to have, and it is the reason comparing past seasons and managers becomes difficult to the point of useles.

Our signings? Last-minute panic buys that were clearly rushed through. Have seen nothing from Simons, Kudus, Tel, Kolo Muani etc to suggest they are anything more than half-decent players at best. I bet none of them were actually properly scouted and identified as targets in the past, but were just signed because they were available.

We've got a mess of a squad full of mediocrity and weak characters, and I don't think that will change any time soon. Deeply worrying.

It's a really good point and like you, I hate to give them credit but each of their signings is part of a plan. There are no square pegs in round holes. Each player knows their role. Even the players who are clearly bench warmers. They don't sulk. When required, they come in a do a great job and when the first teamer is back, they sit on the bench and don't kick up a fuss. They are hitting on everything and we appear to be hitting on nothing... It fucking kills me because you know Simons in their team would be an absolute beast.

I go to all the home games as a season ticket holder and I got to practically all the away games . 22 losses last season was one of our worst seasons since I've been a supporter of our club and I'm 63 . Yes we won a trophy , but we were favourites to win it from the outset . In the final we only beat a team one place above us in the league . This is terrible football . We have won just 3 home games in a calendar year . That is disgraceful for the season ticket holders and the rest of the supporters who can only afford a few games a season . We spend our hard earned money following the club all over the country - Thank Fuck we have a better return away from home otherwise we would be at the foot of the table .

So I disagree , most fans want a manager that can come in and make the squad play better football . Ange didn't do that and neither has Thomas Frank so far . TF took about 20 games to turn Brentford's results more positive . But he won't last long by having a go at the supporters . The lifeblood of the club . We'll be here long after he's fucked off . He needs to do his job and get positive results . It's a results business unless he's forgotten that fact .

How the fuck can Frank achieve what Ange did when Frank isn’t in the Europa league? Why are you lot so weird?

He can’t achieve 5th because the reality of the squad is very different (no son, no maddison, no one match a week). Ange barely achieved fifth with all that.

Put Ange in charge now and he won’t a win a thing, we didn’t win the league cup or fa cup during his time here because they were too hard for him.

We got rolled over by Chelsea every time AngeLOSS set us up vs them.
If it wasn't for a Sarr cross and a penalty, we'd have lost even worse against Bournemouth.
But for 2 late goals, we were 3 down at home to Arse


A lot of Ange's teams displays were skewed by the fact teams knew full well they could sit back and wait. It made us look better than we really were and contributed to stat padding, big time. Racking up possession and touches, forward passes etc means nothing if the likes of Newcastle and Arse are more than happy to let us down that and just pick when to open us up.

Let's not forget Ange's last 3 against Fulham saw a 3 nil loss, a 1-1 draw and a 2-0 loss.
We're not worse.
We're just not better, either.

We've got worse under Frank after an initial uptick in terms of making blocks, tackles, interceptions and winning 1v1 duels.

These players have got fed up with Frank faster than they got fed up with Ange.

This team drew with Wolves, at home, and they should have lost.

Fulham were near the bottom before they took the points at the weekend.

This team are relegation candidates.

Toon will confirm this for you tomorrow if you have any remaining doubts.

Some of us have seen this before.
