I think you should recruit for the club.

By all means let the current incumbent sign off on the selections, but buy players who fit the club ethos first and foremost.

When club managers only tend to have a job expectancy of 18 months it makes no sense to purchase manager specific players.
And this is another reason we are struggling and have struggled.

Poch: Attacking to Jose, defensive, counter attacking. Nuno then Conte with the same.
Ange: I am going to say attacking lol, but that's doing a lot of heavy lifting to Frank, defensive, long ball nonsense.

Along the way the squad was filled with players not suited to a certain style.

Pick a fucking lane. Like Brighton.

Interesting but will he carry the weight needed to impose himself on this group of players?

I suppose his history of success with United a s a player helps in that regard?

I don't know if you watched his Boro team but they were a pleasure to watch.

I suspect he will get another job and eventually manage in the Prem.

It's a risk but one worth taking in my opinion.

Frank's style of play is just shit; with or without the results.

I don’t think so. Achievement as a player doesn’t mean jack as a manager.

Or Shearer would have saved Newcastle etc..

Perhaps but Shearer failed at Newcastle because they were dreadful and he's not a manager's arsehole - not because the players didn't respect him enough to listen to what he told them. :D

100 % ; the reverse is now true.

See Klinsmann v Klopp

Rooney v SAF

Gerrard v just about anyone.

The days of Dalglish and Beckenbauer and Cruyff are long , long gone .
And yet Kompany got Burnley relegated and has thrived at Bayern. Xabi Alonso went from coaching reserve team football to wining the league in Germany. Fabregas is causing waves at Como. Clearly the ex-player who learns to coach and has tactical ideas is still a thing.

I've lost sight of what the ethos is....

Spot on. Its fucking cretinous squad building. And you see it all over at Spurs. Grey Bergvall Sarr, are the same player of the same type of the same age range. Tel Odobert Johnson. Romero, Vuskovic, Kotai, Danso, Philips, Dorrington, ? Davis, Udogie. TWO leftbacks. Its fucking shit.

Which one of you actually took the time to make an account on a Crystal Palace forum to post this?

Solid trolling job honestly.
