When we hired frank the new ceo quoted Frank was the unanimous choice. Or was it levys final decision before he left. No denying levy is a genius businessman but completely the other end of scale football wise. Call me old fashioned but not a fan of all this data driven bollox hiring someone. Think if we lose the next two games Frank will be gone imo.

I agree with this. There's definitely a world in which it could happen. I just don't believe our club or owners have the cohaunas for it.

It's very unlikely to happen but the club could continue the "Levy was making the wrong calls" spin and blame him on Ange's exit?

The players would instantly respond in my opinion and the attacking players would benefit straight away.

Its something I only see happening if the fans start chanting his name or singing f

Jesus Christ.

Get real for crying out loud.

What have we become.

Fcuk sake.

Most real fans, who go to games, would take Ange back immediately. There's no reason this can't happen.

I actually don't see how much harm could be done if he agreed to just come back until the end of the season?

When poch first joined us there was an upward trajectory from late October onwards. With Frank we've got worse. There is no attacking patterns or interchanges I've seen under him. Tbh I hate this long throw shit. I do like Frank as a person but managing tottenham is huge job. He can relieve the pressure a bit beating Newcastle tomorrow.

There is no sane planet where it could happen. Hiring back Ange would make us the laughing stock of English football.

If we aren’t that already. 😥

100% already back there not long after our European escapades.

Do feel like with the right PR and with people on board there's a chance. I absolutely don't see it happening, but I for one would absolutely welcome it.

We're kinda stuck ATM for options until the end of the season. Ange is right up there with the best who could come in and have an impact until other, potentially stronger candidates are available.

Anyone who supports such an idea is beyond my comprehension.

I have no idea what has gone on or wrong with Frank, and maybe it's that he builds squads within a lower expectation. Who can say for sure.

Frank will manage in the PL again, even if he is dismissed by us.

Postecoglou was absolutely out of his depth. Not even a discussion.

Haha this is mental. Only clowns would want him back. He had us 17th. What we are seeing this season is a continuation of what Ange did to us in the league last season. There's an argument to say Ange caused it.

Two bits of evidence for this

Our terrible home form started under Ange. It's never been this bad before his appointment.
His stint at Forest showed that having Ange as your manager in the PL is basically accepting you'll lose every game. He's tactically clueless.

Appointing Ange again after finishing 17th would honestly be the biggest lauging stock decision in the history of football. I don't think anything would come close to it. If people are laughing at us now, just imagine what would happen if we decided to bring him back as manager after his disgraceful Forest stint where even Sean Dyche has made Ange look a clown. Sean Dyche!

And what deluded juice are you drinking to think the players would respond to Ange coming back? The same players who lost every game to finish 17th? Hahaha

Ange is history. We will always have Bilbao, but he could not have survived the league form, no matter what rationale is advanced to explain it. Let it go.

Mate it's a Premier League club paying good money at a top 6 club, this job can attract a lot of managers.

Even if managers flop here they fall back on their feet anyway, it's not that deep - they'll just end up taking the money after they've been sacked whilst we pay them off, it's a win/win for them.
Are we though? We finished 17th last season (as people never seem to get tired of mentioning - including our current manager).

In fact in the last 5 years we've finished outside the top 6 more often than we've finished in it, and I don't think there's much chance of us finishing top 6 this season either, do you?

I do agree that there are plenty of managers out there who'd like to try their hand at managing Spurs, but how many of them are likely to be any good?

Or perhaps more to the point ho
w many are going to be good enough to satisfy our entitled fanbase?

I think you're beyond deluded in your beliefs. All measurable metrics point to Ange getting more out of his team ( Gray, Dragu, Davies CB / Foster in goal / No striker available / Werner on the wing) than what Frank is able to get currently.

Metrics better whilst writing off the league...

Forest in his period in charge had better metrics...

Tbh I'm scratching my head why some fans don't want poch back. Are dyche, howe and that Brighton coach better than poch? Imo poch outclasses all of them by a distance.

Everyone is frustrated and I think a lot of it can be attributed to where we were at the start of this decade... we were so far ahead of Woolwich in 2020 but didn't capitalise from a position of strength and now it's like the early Sky years all over again...
It started earlier than that.

The summer we didn't buy a single player was probably the start of the squad deterioration.

In 2019/20 (year Poch was sacked), we finished 8th to Woolwich's 9th (level on points). In 20/21, we finished 6th to their 8th (3 points above). In 21/22, we finished 4th to their 5th (2 points ahead). That definitely is not far ahead of Woolwich.

Last season, Woolwich finished 36 points ahead of us and if we pretend like Ange didn't try in the league, it was still 23 points the year before. And 24 the year before that. Now that is far ahead.

Woolwich rebuilt the squad correctly and it is 5 years later, where we think we can just change the manager and things will improve. Outside of finding a world class player from nowhere, this squad will take years to rebuild.

Of course we are, top 6 in terms of wages and by definition a top 6 club, that's all it is, look how much money we've spent recently and look how much money we can spend without touching the sides.

This is a big club and a big job for anyone purely based on history, prestige and finance. ..let's not try and play it down just because we have underachieved recently.

What exactly has Poch done when he hasn't had Kane, Eriksen, Son, Dembele and that whole squad at his disposal. Nothing at Chelsea (who admittedly were a mess). Nothing at PSG (he somehow didnt even win the league one season). Nothing at USMNT.

Who is to say Poch is a good manager at all and didn't just have a fortunate spell when we actually knew how to recruit and develop players?
