Is it possible to create a poll this late into the thread or do we need to create a new thread to get the poll done.

I want eller managers you mentioned in the poll
Hutter
Hoeness
Italiano
Ole Werner
Farioli
Toppmoller
Michel

And Im sure there will be a few that wants
Postecoglu and Pochettino in it too.

Anyone who wants Ange back should be permanently binned if they even so much as hint at it.

People wanting Frank out then clamoring for Carrick
Hold Up What GIF

He started off OK at Boro, but was never any more than bang average after that.
This is easily accessible information. You can look at all their results from Oct 2022 when he took over. The rest of that season was by far his best time and that was over 3 years ago.

Stop being fucking silly.

The Frank hate is now starting to look as utterly irrational as the Ange love did.

Celtic have just appointed a supposed attaching maverick coach who has had success in lower level countries. So I guess he is on the radar!

He landed his first managerial job in 2021, taking over from his friend and former boss Thierry Henry at CF Montreal. Not bad for a man who, just a few short years earlier, was coaching under-14 girls.
He's won everywhere he goes!

I guess people are thinking that as he was an elite player that won it all that other players would look up to him? Thats the Pep, Xavi, Luis Enrique, Zidane, Kompany, Arteta (ish) school of thinking isn't it that an elite player can be an elite manager without much experience?

tbh I'm not sure about him as an option either, certainly not one to bin Frank off for in a hurry.

If we don't beat Brentford, which of Forest away, Liverpool home, Palace away do you see us winning before Xmas?

We'll be in the bottom 5 by then

LFC will a broken side , bereft of attacking ideas , an ineffectual midfield and a hopeless and increasingly shakey defence led by a manager who’s surviving on fumes by the time we get to play them at our place .

So there’s no reason why we shouldn’t come away with a confidence boosting nil-nil from that game .

Rooney, Hughes, Keane, Bruce, Henry, Neville, Maradona, Gazza,
I would say more elite ex players have failed as managers than succeeded.

They'll find a way to perk up for our game, I'm sure....
The ONLY glimmer of light this season is that they beat Woolwich AND THAT will really annoy them!

Alex Ferguson, Mourinho, Wenger... Not great players, but vastly better managers...
Cloughie was a good example of an excellent player (albeit whose career was cut short by Injury) and an equally great manager!

It's what did for Hoddle's managerial career (that and Jesus)... He genuinely didn't UNDERSTAND that players couldn't do what HE could with a ball!!

The way you've framed that question sums up perfectly why we should just sack Thomas Frank tonight.

We will do well to get 4 points from that group of fixtures in our current malaise.

Forest have Everton next so either Everton are getting further away from Spurs or Forest are catching us up just before they then play us.

I have no hope or expectation for the season under Frank.

This simply can't go on.

Hoddle was a strange one.
He only really unraveled once he went to Spurs. He performed well at Swindon, Chelsea, England and Southampton. Then just seemed to lose his shit at Spurs. Maybe he cared more at Spurs that the players he had were technically limited and that stopped him making logical decisions?

Be interesting to see where Parker and Lampard end up as managers.
Lampard has looked dreadful at PL level but is destroying the Championship now. Parker similar.

Without going back to nostalgia of yesteryear ; there was a sweetspot era when the likes of Dalglish , Cruyff,(Keegan ) ,Klinsmann , Beckenbauer , Zagallo , Deschamps and even into our current era Martin O’Neill ( albeit in Scottish football) ruled supreme but those days will NEVER happen again.

Bill Nic , Arthur Rowe , Terry Venables and Glenn all won England Caps . George Graham played for Scotland . None of that will ever happen again .

The game’s too technical ( and sterile) now and has to be studied and rehearsed ( from an early age ) in order to impart the skills required to others .

Modern successful players could retire in their mid-twenties and never have to work a day again in their lives . Plus most of them are lacking in the cortical area . I don’t blame them .

Pep will probably be the last of them
( although even he was mentored by the greatest ex-player manager of them all ) .

Can any of you imagine JJ or Paul Merson or David Bentley ever wanting to put the yards in to become a manager in today’s game .
