This is a dangerous precedent to try and follow.
Maybe it's tribalism tainting my view, but I refuse to credit anything to that weirdo mannequin. What we are seeing with Woolwich's current seeming success (and hopefully it is only fleeting) isn't the product of a highly competent person being given time to instill his methods, it's the result of giving any old buffoon years beyond what they deserve and chucking money at it hand over fist chasing the already sunk cost.
He is an idiot, with some wacky ideas, and an utter weirdo, who is benefitting from just sticking around long enough to be present for a season where the usual suspects may all have an off year.
More time hasn't made Woolwich any better at all than they have been, nor has all of the money, they just now have a full squad of players that can see out the managers very boring gameplan because each of their subs came at a price of ~£50m. Classic Ajax/Barcelona/Brazil from whatever year you want to reminisce on the great sides of yesteryear they most certainly are not.
More to the point he benefitted from the pandemic, his situation is one in a million.
The main thing that concerns me is we’re counting on a home game to turn it around and our home form is abysmal.
I fear the players will be dreading playing in the stadium, Brentford will be really up for it, we’ll concede first, the crowd will get on their back and our players will shrink further.
I hope I’m proved wrong, but I won’t hold my breath!
It's the home form that's the major problem so it's a home game we need in order to actually turn anything around, if we were playing Brentford away and went and won then it wouldn't really alter any perceptions.
It's the home demons we need to banish and we should be looking at this weekend as the perfect opportunity (well, second most perfect after last weeks!) to do so. Unfortunately it will take more than one, two, or even three matches won to do so. The issue is a multi-year one, and it's going to take a solid year of home form to get us away from that now.
The players have dug us into this hole and now they need to roll their sleeves up and get us out of it!
Very true, but it might have been an easier task after stringing a couple of decent away games together.
We’re entering this game a week after our most abject home game ever in which it got incredibly toxic.
Said this before: Being 5 points clear of a City team that conceded 4 from mighty Fulham a few days ago, and 6 of Villa in a wide open season after 6 years in charge and an absurd amount of money spent is not the success story we should be learning lessons from IF we're going to follow a similar path in terms of spending big and committing to one manager eventually.
It's uninspiring at best, an actual poor investment considering the opportunity cost of all that time and money at worst. It's not simply a matter of finishing 8th and gradually improving over all those years.
To relate this to Frank: If he was indeed brought in here to replicate this "model" on a smaller scale, where the goal is to eventually secure our place in top-half with some dreadful football, just because it would constitute a big improvement over finishing 17th once or whatever, we should abandon the experiment immediately. It's not worth it.

I don't want him back and any points I make about his actual performance (relative to squad ability) while he was here is simply to highlight the incredibly tough job Frank (or any other manager) has - and always did have.
I mean if that's not clear to you by everything I post - and have posted since this time last year then I can't help you.
Ie: just one very legitimate concern is injuries. We are awful now but imagine if Cuti, VDV and Vic all went down. We'd be in all sorts. At least Frank seems mindful of that hence managing VDV's minutes even potentially at his own cost.

Looking at it from afar, and having just read an article about Thomas Frank in the German football magazine "kicker," I find the criticism of the coach "normal."
Conte (who apparently wanted to leave himself), Ange, and now Frank.
The fans want the coach to prepare the team properly, get them "ready" for the matches, and equip them with motivation and self-confidence!
In my opinion, training is a sign of which players actually want that!
I don't know, but what about young players from the reserve team who might be training with the first team, or could be training with them?
What were the mistakes that Conte and Ange made that ultimately led to a 17th-place finish, which even winning the Europa League couldn't compensate for (rightfully so, in my opinion, because the league has to come first; everything else is a result of that).
Frank has been a successful coach in Copenhagen and Brentford—so he should know what he's doing.
Labeling the fans as "not fans" simply because they express their dissatisfaction with the team's style of play was a mistake.
What I see on TV is that the support is strong.

I can't assess how the Tottenham owners' behavior is affecting the team's style of play.
Talking about another managerial change now won't solve anything. The players are also responsible – at least 50% – and could be appealed to by their sense of pride.

The ball doesn't stick to our attackers because they regularly receive the ball in situations where the odds are heavily stacked against them: Back towards the goal and heavily marked.
And the passes are also made from very narrow angles where defenders, the trio of Romero-VDV-Porro in particular, get trapped outside. The whole midfield gets bypassed in this process where defenders try to identify and find attackers as their targets.
How often have you seen these this season?
These are low percentage plays regardless of who're involved.The ball more often than not will come straight back to your half as if you just kicked it against a wall. And if the ball stays inside your own half for long stretches, chances are you'll eventually concede because of the way you keep inviting pressure.

Frank doesn't know what to do with Xavi, are we convinced he will now how to manage Maddison? Madders is also fair-weather and whilst there's no questioning his ability on his day, if we can't get the ball up that end he will be useless.
And where does Deki - assuming he is anywhere near the same player after having his knee rebuilt - fit in? He's typically played on the RW. Are we then shunting Kudus out?
I get Woolwich are doing better now with Lego Head but that is after spending over a Billion, Forest on the other hand are doing a lot better just by Ange not being there, us on the other hand , can't really say we have got any better , I still agree with you though , unless someone is gettable now then whats the point ( barring looking like going down)
I just really hope the Club are sounding out the likes of Glasner for next season so if we continue to look this poor next year we at least have someone else lined up. The worry is the likes of Liverpool and maybe even Chelsea if they don't make top 4 could both be looking for new managers in the summer. Not sure any top manager is picking us over Liverpool or Chelsea.

Ange is gone, the squad cost over 750m (200m of which was spent under Frank's watch), and Arteta had a clear plan and earnt the time by winning the FA Cup... Frank has no plan... different players, different formations he doesn't even have the bollocks to call out those briefing against him. He is the fucking Head Coach... get a fucking grip or get off the pot!!!
Glasner is out of contract at the end of the season. We should be sounding him out now.

They need to fly out the traps tomorrow but I bet they won’t, they’ll be ponderous, they’ll misplace passes and they’ll hide from the ball from the first second. Frank isn’t telling them to do that, the players just don’t fancy it. They’re used to losing, especially at home and it’s become a habit which they don’t seem at all bothered by.
