Player Mikey Moore

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Great to see the positives having watched him a lot at youth level. Worth bearing in mind that Dundee have a wage bill similar to a mediocre League Two club like Barrow. But still, good progress in a very difficult environment. The whole Rangers experience should be the making of the young man.

Always comes over as quite a mature 18 yr old. Keep it going Mikey.
Thoughtful and unaffected it appears. Really loved that interview, him acknowledging his form is better with freedom, but that the manager gave him that not a demand from himself.

Loads of us have watched enough of Mikey to know, if he pulls together a run of form like he had several times at youth (beautiful runs, passes, finishes, insane vision) for us and England, he will look like Gazza up there.

Might be a year early, but would be lovely to see him show all his stuff, iron out a few weaknesses and come back on par with Vuskovic as precocious wonderkids.

football fans the world over are eejits when they conflate a player being less than stellar with having A FUCKING CRAP MANAGER WHO HASNT A FUCKING CLUE ABOUT A FUCKING THING

Like a lot of our players last year
Going to Rangers instead of say Celtic looked strange

Now it looks fucking stupid

Said it was a crap loan at the start and its just getting worse.

fucking idiotic
You've fairly changed your fucking tune well.

Gold:

Mikey Moore (Rangers)

Mikey Moore netted his first goal for Rangers with a confident finish in the 3-0 win at Dundee as the Danny Rohl era at the club stretched to three consecutive Scottish Premiership wins.

The 18-year-old swept home his finish after a good passing move from the visitors and he was denied a second goal before the break after it was adjudged on review that the offside Mohamed Diomande had interfered with Dundee goalkeeper Jon McCracken's view of Danilo's initial attemp

Moore was a constant pest to Dundee during his 66 minutes on the pitch, drifting off the right wing into more central positions to cause problems aplenty.

The teenager spoke about his tough loan after the game and coming out the other side with recent displays.

"It was a difficult start for me and I don’t think I showed anywhere near what I know I can do," he said. "Mentally it’s been unbelievable for me because it’s a massive club and I think it’s strengthened me up a lot because it’s probably the toughest time I’ve been through.

"So now I’m happy to be coming out of it, but now I need to keep on going and performing.

On speculation that he was aiming for a return to north London, the teenager said: "I was never ready to go back. I always knew that at some point it would change and I’ve changed it for myself a little bit in the last few weeks, but I need to keep building and playing even better than I am.

"I’m picking up goals and assists, as I said in midweek that I need to, so I’m happy with the goal on Sunday. I’m feeling a lot more confident, I’m getting used to the league, used to my teammates and the manager’s helped me a lot as well, he’s come in and he’s gave me confidence and belief in myself which has been good from him, so I’m excited to keep going.

"There’s a lot of pressure on a young boy coming from the Premier League, but as long as I’m improving and I’m helping Rangers go win games and picking up goals and helping the team, that’s all that matters for now."

Moore has been given a freer role under former Sheffield Wednesday boss Rohl and is enjoying the chance to create.

"I think it helps me being in that role. I always want to be involved in the game as much as possible and I like to get in the pockets," said the youngster. "I can play wide but I think I’ve had a bit of a mix of both, so I’m enjoying the role I’ve been given.

Mikey Moore (Rangers)

If we had done this a month ago then it might have been a different answer. Mikey Moore was having a tough time at Rangers, the fans were unhappy with him, the team, the club and everything really to do with the Russell Martin era.

However, out went Martin and in came Danny Rohl and in a roving role in the attack, the 18-year-old has started to win over the fans with his undoubted potential and some good performances, not least scoring his first goal at the weekend against Dundee.

On speculation that he was looking for a January return to north London, Moore said at the weekend: "I was never ready to go back.

If everything remains on this upward trend then it would seem daft to take Moore away from a big experience with plenty of pressure that should help shape him for the future.

Verdict: Stay

The Rangers support have quickly turned and likely would love him up there for another season. If he keeps performing, clubs will be queuing up to sign him.

Look at how happy the team were for him when he scored. That's great to see, means he's settled in well. Second was a cracker too, harsh to rule it out IMO.

He looks a different animal now. He was building a bit of momentum then got injured a few weeks back
But looked really sharp when he came on tonight. He looks stronger and quicker than when he first went to Rangers. The new manager has played him more centrally and his goal tonight showed what he is. He’s a 10 and not a winger. In the last few weeks when I’ve seen him he reminds me a bit of Grealish when he was at Villa.
