No it’s easier to pass to Romero if it’s on his left. On his right it’s squares him up and first time pass to Romero probably isn’t on. He can open his body up on his left and clip it around the corner with his right.
by his right foot, it means square onto him, not literally to the right hand side of his body. the ball needs to come to him square on so he can pass with his right foot.
show it when the ball actually gets to him. he's closer to the area and more even with romero so playing it with his left is much harder. plus the defender is on his ass at that point and shading his left more so if he opens up to hit it almost sideways the ball is more exposed. do you think running towards a ball coming to your weaker foot so you can redirect to the side is really that easy? in that situation it's much easier and effective to chip it first time with your right and it spins into romero's path forward.Look where Romero is - That's a first time pass every top level footballer should be able to pull off even on their weaker foot - the reality is that he mis controlled the football (it happens)
If he's given the exact same pass again Gray 99/100 Gray gets out of that situation, he just dealt with the pass poorly.
i disagree. if you want it ultimately going to romero there you roll it into his right and he cuts it with the instep of his right foot and curl it into his path. left foot you have to turn and open up your body wall pass it while exposing yourself to the defender
Unless I misunderstood him he’s talking about taking it on his left side of his body to play it right footed to Romero.
ahh i see. i do think with it that far on his left it's harder to swing his right around. i think with these kinds of plays you're just chopping and chipping it
how can he play it to romero first time if the ball to him is that far over to his left? hes having to stick his left leg out to try get the bobbling pass under control? if the ball is square on to him its a simple little instep pass to romero from his right foot. the shit bobbling pass to his left foot absolutely kills gray, it puts him in a position where he actually has to spin the forest player lol
