Are you Frank Out or In?

I'm amazed 35% of fans still want Frank to remain or are these rival fans scewing the poll. If they are genuine I'd been interested to understand why without mentioning the following reasons.

1. 17th, this is an improvement
2. Eventually we have to stick with a manager
3. The players are shit
Think this poll was created a long time ago when the situation wasn't quite as dire as it is now and some people just haven't bothered changing their votes since then. If the poll was restarted now I guess that number would be significantly lower.

I'm just numb to it all at this stage. I'm so disconnected from the club atm.

1) We have a gooner in Vinai trying to copy the Arteta project.
2) Our transfer strategy is being head up by Lange who seems to be obsessed with kids and nothing else.
3) Frank is the worst fit ever for a Spurs coach. He brings no aura and his tactics are just so negative.

The direction is just non-existent at the moment. We are just trying to copy what Woolwich did and are just binning off any style of play. But its not even working and the whole thing is an embarrassment. I watched the game yesterday in a pub with my friends and I was just embarrassed. For the first time in my life I couldn't even defend my club. I've zero confidence in anyone at the club making decisions. The January transfer window is going to be another embarrassment and I don't even see the point in backing Frank - he doesn't deserve it.. Frank has shown nothing to suggest he's worth investing in. Nothing about the current situation has any positives. I was happier least year under Levy and Ange!

Agree with this. You won’t need to worry about them backing Frank next month, I can tell you they won’t.

The disintegration of the club feels like it’s by design. They’re just another Mike Ashley.

  • We've only lost one Champions League game. It was enough for Ange to hang on in the 2nd tier of Europe.
  • We've given him a Lidl off-brand attack, whilst our most creative and useful players are out injured.
  • He's getting some kind of tune out of Richi
  • He has been dealt a harsh hand by being given a Xavi Simons lookalike instead of wherever the real one is
  • He's been given a striker that can only score against his parent club
  • Vicario has turned into Onana all of a sudden

Eh give him the season. We aren’t very good and that’s probably not gonna change. But who are we getting midseason that’s an improvement? If it truly flounders then move on then.

From memory of seeing Poch’s, it looked like Ange’s 23/24 but obviously for a longer period until things tailed off in his last season.

I’m not really a XG person but I like looking at the long term evidence as you can see the precise moments it went wrong in all examples. For Poch it changed the day v Burnley away when we lost and Mike Dean said something to wind him up.

Something about the Diamond not working today?

Bloke is a twat!

But is the fact there is no obvious replacement a reason to keep him? I’m not sure it is. Squad is nowhere near good enough but I don’t think he is either

I’d say it is. I’d hope he’d work more miracles than he has. But such is reality and we’re not a very good team, lack leadership, etc. The only reason to pull the plug early is because you truly believe there’s a significant upgrade out there. And yes, pulling the plug at half a season is pulling very early, especially on a team that finished 17th, has major players out, and frankly is just not that great. I think if you’re gonna run a club that way, we will never be any good. There’s lots of ups and downs throughout a season so he definitely deserves at least one full one.

Oh no i'm not !

But seriously look at our form over the last 12 months

Ok let’s do that. And we are doing pretty shit.

But at Christmas we are still going to be closer to 5th than 18th. So as shit as we are other teams are worse. Which is all that decides relegation.

The team in 18th need to win 3 games just to catch us up. And their GD is -16 to our +3 so actually they need to win 4 games to go above us.

Reality. They have won 3 games all season.

A very simple way to look at it. If I gave you £10k today with the option to stick it on Spurs finishing somewhere between 5th and 17th or 18th - 20th. What would you do?

For context 18th West Ham are currently odds on to go down. Spurs you can get 40-1.
If you bet on us to go down you might as well just set fire to £10k. Which is fine if you are the KLF. (One for the kids there).

The bookies rarely fuck up - that’s a big difference in odds.
(They actually think there more chance of City being relegated than Spurs thanks to this court case. )

So as the song goes “we are staying up!! Say we are staying up!!”

:bissoumahear:

Edit Over last 10 games West Ham have 1 more point than us.
Last 6 we have 1 more point than them.

So if form is the decider here they need approx 100 games to catch us if we are purely talking about relegation form.

I very much agree with your take and would 100% bet on us staying up but think things could well look different in a few week's time.

West Ham have maybe their best run of fixtures so far (certainly under Nuno) with games against Wolves, Fulham, Brighton and Forest. If we continue stinking the place up it's feasible they pick up 5-6 points in those games and we get fewer. Suddenly our game with them on Jan 18 is a full-on relegation 6 pointer.

Odds are very much that we'll be fine but it's starting to feel a little bit like the Ange freefall again where we don't know where the next win's coming from. If we can just nick 1 win against Palace, Brentford or Bournemouth then I'll feel much, much better. God it's sad I even had to write that sentence.
