Ex-Spurs Player Brennan Johnson

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

No time for him personally but he does get himself into positions where he poached goals and it doesn’t matter who makes them!

We had a certain player like Mr J Greaves who was a master of it but of course he had a lot more to his game and attitude!
I saw a goal Greaves scored black and white footage, he runs from the halfway line its spooky in the way it mirrors a goal I've seen Messi score. Little shifts of the ball the whole time beats player after player the a dinked finish. Its conception and execution are pure Messi. Think Greaves did indeed have a bit More to his game than a finish.

I think that was against Utd in a 5 goal win!

Good old days!!

Entirely agree. People latch on to what a player can't do and sometimes ignore what he can. Emerson Royal didn't offer much with the ball but you didn't see players get around him in the final third. Werner couldn't finish but he had pace and could get around his man in the final third. Not saying we should of kept either, but sometimes you have to balance attributes and limitations and use imperfect players as well as you can. Johnson is what he is. If you give away that goal scoring ability you surely had better be getting something worthwhile out of who you put out there in his place.
No you don't need to accommodate subpar players you need to build the best possible squad.
No team with elite ambitions has players like Emerson Royal or Johnson in their squad.
You need to recognise transfer market mistakes and correct them ruthlessly.
Persist with mediocre players and you will decline as we have done.

I was privileged to see Jimmy Greaves play a few times & he was an incredible player. Yes he could score but he brought so much more to the table.

Brennan definitely looks like he’s gone in January

Will always be a hero for that goal and will score a shitload of PL goals wherever he ends up.

Still, 100% move him on if you can replace him with better. The question is, can they?

Who is our RW this season when Kudus can’t play?

“Hero” calm down mate it bobbled off him in a ropey league final, he didn’t score a scorcher in the CL final. Moura is far more of a hero.

He won’t score that many elsewhere either, will just be a backup option.

He’s had one prolific premier league scoring season and it was 1 in 3 in a gung-ho side lol. The idea he will score ‘shit loads’ elsewhere is what’s funny. He definitely doesn’t start for a Villa.

He’s a very very basic & average player with a knack for back post tap ins. The league has seen many of him and will continue to.

He'll score when it matters repeatedly against Spurs...not even a question this happens.

He’s going to Palace most likely. Finishing chances on the break with limited touches is his thing.
